Ffs I'm tired of this forum going down again and again, what a joke it's become like.

I'm away to try out that other forum and see what that's like, so if I don't come back, it was nice knowing yers.

A few months ago I thought Tranmere were a sure place for the play offs, but they suddenly couldn't win away, now they struggle at home also. They will be in the bottom half before they know it.

Guess they were riding the crest of the promotion wave and now they’ve hit a sticky patch are falling back into place now momentum has fallen away.

Tranmere's momentum deserted them a bit? Not in great form over the last few weeks.

A case of just being in bad form, or some of the promotion squad being found out and not good enough?
The weaknesses in the squad that got us promoted were starting to show by Christmas and I think the club have decided to have real overhaul as quickly as possible. There were three debuts last night, plus Perkins only playing his third game and Pringle his second, so inevitably there was not any real understanding in the side and the performance was disjointed.

The players we have brought in are definitely better than the ones who have left, but it will obviously take time for them to gel. It might not happen until next season. How people think they can judge a new signing on 60-90 minutes of football is beyond me.

For what it is worth, I think Nelson will be a good player given time. He grew into the game last night.

We were the same. First transfer window back we were about 50/50 between old and new, then by the close of the August window last summer, we had two left - Rhead and Habergham.

Next seasons ST prices were released today. We can renew them from 20th of February, which is the first renewal window.

Adult in the Co-op is £349, so still quite respectable with the £20 increase. They'll be separate renewal windows where presumably the price will increase further.

Nelson looked decent last night, Monthe on the other hand :dk:

Just seen it reported on twitter that some of our players haven't been paid for January (again). Last time it was due to the owner controlling the money ( he took some out and didn't release it in time to pay). Interesting that it may only be some players.

I guess it worked last year and we won the league, so maybe we're trying the same method again...

Or maybe we failed to tell some of these new signings they weren't actually going to get a wage?

Monthe playing alongside McNulty, Manny looked the better player.
Monthe without McNulty means panic.

A bit like when we beat Tranmere at Wembley he needed Ethan pinnock next to him , such a dodgy player I'm glad we got rid of.

Very nice and all that, but is this information relevant to the thread?

Next thing we'll be having the boring attendances being posted which I would rather be kept in their own thread.

No we haven't.

They're costs inclusive of transfer fees, agent fees, signing on fees (including any new contracts, too), and other associated costs for a transfer, which will reduce over the period of said contracts.

So that figure will, in theory, reduce next season if we didn't sign anyone, extend contracts etc but obviously it won't happen in reality.

Hence why I used the loose term ‘transfers’ Luke. You touchy soul! Now if I said ‘fees’ afterwards trying to be all smart might have worked better.

Does it even take in to account Akinde? hopefully it dispells this daft fight against ‘big spending Mansfield’ to bed.

Nope, Akinde was after.

It'll be Bostwick's new deal, Eardley's new deal, Woodyard's new deal (then sold in the summer) along with all the other signings (Green, Palmer etc etc), buying Pett and Freck in January probably Bostwick and Anderson in the previous summer window (can't remember exactly when they were signed). Might even be Andrade as well because he signed early this season.

"According to League 2 benchmarking, we were ranked just below half way for total player costs after the summer transfer window."

Then after January 2018:

"Following this increased expenditure, the final benchmarking report for the season saw us move into the top ten for total player costs in League 2."

Why would Lincoln spending shitloads dispell the truth about Mansfield also spending shitloads?

They (some) have this weird small vs big budget mentality against Mansfield, when in reality both have spend big.

Ah okay sorry, misread your post in that case. Are Lincoln fans really of the opinion that they don't have a top 2/3 budget in the division?

I’m not sure but they really have a disdain for our spending, and seem to think it’s just a chairman chucking money at players situation, which is a very ignorant viewpoint especially considering a new £2m training facility recently opened.

The club did deserve criticism for letting Steve Evans spend a shit ton of money on players aged 30+ though, and we have suffered for that this season with the likes of Anderson and Butcher only just leaving the club after not playing all season despite earning big.

I agree to a certain extent; to suggest we are not spending big is incredibly naïve. The extent of the bankrolling is different between us. I mean, your turnover for the same period was about £2.5million, ours was more than double that.

Oh, I guess it's because they're more sustainable then? That Checkatrade Trophy game earlier really spiced things up a bit between you guys too. The Lincoln fan at my work is so placid and nice that I say nice things about Lincoln to him and don't reveal my true online constant goading of and support against them...however he fucking hates Mansfield haha. That match next month at Field Mill is potentially massive.

It makes me a bit sad/jealous that you're both going up to be in the same division as Scunny, probably Donny and Posh and maybe Barnsley and Rotherham too. That's a great little "East Midlands" league. With Notts going down, it'll be us and Northampton left alone like two mates of mates who don't really know each other having an awkward pint.

I’m not sure if they are more sustainable, they definitely could/should be with the crowd surge but they have decided to spend a lot more so still require external funding, our last proper accounts actually had a small profit but obviously this was before the Evans era. MTFC is actually going to be put within the ‘One Call Group’ apperantly which is to increase our spending power.

our last set of accounts was a 6 month period to match us up with One Calls accounts. either way nobody has a moral high ground here.

But in the six months after that our turnover was nearly that alone, so we are probably looking at double that turnover now. To be fair.

We are definitely requiring more funding, that’s obvious looking at attendances alone.

I find Lincoln situation a bit bizarre, you would expect with the surge in crowds and money they could have realistically run the club sustainably and still compete at the top end of L2 but they decided to go significantly beyond that.
