Curious what we do next weekend now.

Notts County away where we -should- be picking up our first away win since Morecambe. However as we ridiculously play two days later vs Southport in FA Cup it may result in the resting of a couple players in an already injury hit team.

Personal preference is to do just that and put out the strongest possible side vs Southport for the best chance of a money spinning tie and packed PP vs Tottenham.

It’s a difficult decision, TW. You just know that if we field a weakened side against Notts County, it will come back to bite us. Either it will be the part of a major slump that sets us plummeting down the table or sparks a revival from the Magpies who pip us for a play-off spot. With almost our strongest available line-up (Mullin probably better than Stockton) we struggled to beat a weak Cambridge side.

However, if reports re our finances are correct, a third round televised tie could prove crucial in stabilising Rovers short-term future. For that reason I would be tempted to rest a couple of key players in the attacking/creative role; Norwood and Smith, plus perhaps McNulty.

Seems there were fisticuffs in the tunnel after the Crawley Northampton game and some dipstick threw a bottle towards the ref as he was walking off.

Big fine coming Crawley's way and a lifetime ban for the tosser.

I think we will rest the players at Notts that clearly don't have the stamina to play twice in three days: McNulty, Buxton, possibly Ridehalgh considering his serious injury. There will be some natural rotation as well, as I think McCullough is still unavailable for the cup match.

The naturally fit players like Norwood and Jennings will be expected to play both games. although even for a fit player the chances of picking up a muscle injury are massively increased if you play matches that close together.

And Sol would just put a complaint in that you lot are bringing the game i to disrepute by not fielding your strongest team.

"Stat: After this weekend, John Akinde has the same amount of league goals from open play as Peter Clarke."

Some people say we're skint, some people say we've got lots of money available in January. Truth is, nobody knows except the chairman. Either way, a televised cup tie at home to Tottenham will help.

Tried to catch up on our shit show this morning on twitter after working all weekend. It’s just a wall of Oldham being complete fannies and butt hurt that Artell hasn’t sent them a Christmas card.

Will never understand football fans taking random, inane quotes from opposition managers to heart SO much.

Still none the wiser about our performance. Probs same shit as last 12 years. Win = play off push. Lose = Sack the c**t.

Two trips to the South West (Exeter and FGR) before Christmas for us coming up next. I can’t remember the last time we won in that neck of the woods, without looking it up maybe 5-2 at Bristol Rovers in our last promotion season 6 years ago?

Are we talking the South West of the UK, or just England? To be fair, it's been years since we played Bristol Rovers as we swapped leagues in 2016, same with Exeter, didn't play them for decades until the last 2 seasons. Plus we only played FGR for the first time last season. You are right though, the last time won against a team from that area was Bristol Rovers. We also beat Cheltenham a few months earlier. Does Swindon count as the South West? Kinda feels like it is.

If you don't count Swindon, since that Bristol Rovers win, pretty sure our record is 0-5-9(5-25). Drops to 0-5-14(12-44) is you do include Swindon. So yeah, any trip down the M5 usually spells death for this team. It's funny, Exeter are struggling a bit at the moment, but they'll still almost certainly turn us over comfortably on Saturday. Do think we have half a chance against FGR, as we match up well against them. A passing team that aren't overly big or physical. Exeter though, urgh.

Yes I was including basically all trips down the m5. It’s a truly dismal record.

Just twitter trolls.

Absolutely nothing to see.

The club has a turnover of anywhere between £8-10m this season and have only spent £1.3m on player wages*.

Mark Palios did invest £2m in the clubs infrastructure over the last four years to help this huge rise in turnover which may be why some think we have issues. Reality is the club is very healthy and will have a very large wage budget next season.

*as of first game of season.

Our Yeovil away game arranged for a Tuesday night in late January.

Can't see many making the 10 hour, 500 mile round trip!

22nd? Same as ours to FGR, if so. Meaning we now go to you lot on the Saturday, to FGR on that Tuesday and then host MKD on the following Saturday. Nice easy 9 points there!

Yeah, we're away at Swindon away, home to you, away at Yeovil then away at Bury or something daft. January's a busy month

I’m not greedy I’d settle for 7 points from those 3 games.

3 home games over Christmas, good stuff. Couple of wins and we’ll be in a good spot for a playoff push in the new year.

We will have to agree to differ. The penalty was too far away for me to judge so I'll give you that but the sending off was harsh and the the big centre half deliberately pushed Bulman over (as I said, taking one for the team).

The really annoying thing for me was not the refs performance but ours. We were bloody awful.

Home to Morecambe for us tomorrow, a game which historically have always been close ones but obviously it's one we need to be winning, even if both sides form is the same at the minute.

Seems Toffolo and Andrade will be fit after being kicked off the park last weekend at Stevenage.

Forecasting 50mph winds and snow in the afternoon!

League 2 is normally a hotbed of passing football but with the countrywide forecast of FILTH it’s hard to see there being many enjoyable spectacles tomorrow

Should suit the Cowleys' particular brand of thuggish hoofball.

We have Crawley tomorrow to mark Sol's first home game. Need to win really, especially as Crawley's recent form is worse than ours. Shite weather forecast so I predict a low crowd despite the ENORMITY of the game.

Don't worry Blue Lion. Palmer failed in the red card appeal (shock, horror), Morrais and Vincelot are still injured and our defence us still looking to give a goal away.

If we get a draw I would be happy.
