Surprised how bad Salford appear to be to be honest, got a walloping at Crawley, looked meh against Stevenage and we carved them open multiple times and Neal saved them.

Not really pushed on it seems. Can’t see them doing anything this season at all.
Their team isn't quite top league 2 standard on paper apart from a few players, they have top non-league players but they don't always make the step up.

I suppose the danger with them will be that they can go out and bring in 3/4 big name players before the end of the month and/or in January and become a different animal.

I think Salford will be suffering from the FFP limit in League Two and would not be able to strengthen that much without getting rid of some high earners that are not doing well.

Lol Salford will already be way over the 55% limit from last season budget, it’s easy to get around.

Salford will have to replace most of their National League squad. Don't think any of the recently promoted teams into league 2 have many players left from their promotion seasons.

Crawley will feel unlucky at missing out on 3 points. Inspired keeping from our young goalie won us a point. But, we were lucky to get that. Better performance than others this season, but that is not saying much. We need additional forward players now and hopefully we'll get some. Having said that our defence is like last season - woeful. Looks like a long hard season ahead for us, just trying to stay up.

2 home games against orient and Stevenage this week, hopeful of a decent return from those.

Salford might have a first season like Fleetwood at this level then be stronger next season once they reshape the squad, hopefully they get relegated first.

ffs, I wasn't aware that Vale were only denied an away win at the classless of 92 by a 93rd min goal. The lucky bastards could've lost three games on the spin :(

Salford have Carl Piergianni at the back who is two divisions above his natural level. For all the investment in forwards and other attacking players, they really have neglected their back four, Nathan Pond apart.

If he's the pony tailed guy he was gash. No idea how he got MOM

He is! Neal was their best player by far and got them the point! If it wasnt for him we'd have won 3 or 4-1

The striker Disurwvue was pants too, spent all afternoon elbowing and somehow avoided punishment, didnt see if he was the one who broke Wozza's nose but he did Leggey two or three times...

Adam Rooney was guff too got hauled off after an hour, shows how bad the SPL is! £4k a week!

Yeah, saw a lot of people on twitter predictably forgetting that we live in an 'innocent until proven guilty' society. Who exactly is the guy they are accused of attacking? Apparently he plays for Mansfield as well?

It’s all in the Carlisle match thread pretty much, but it’s a former YT kid. 12 pages on stagsnet thus far.

Like I said elsewhere I’ve seen Mellis deny anything to do with the kid, but even if that’s the case there’s more to it.

Chris Eubank is STILL ANGRY

BUuuHxT.png

The follow up to that was worse when he pinned him down as he tried to get up to the ball!

I guess the idea with zonal marking is that your players don't get pulled out of position, but even Premiership teams have struggled to implement it well. I remember Arsenal going through a phase under Wenger where they just kept conceding goals from set pieces and zonal marking was blamed.
We set up with both and have three of the best headers of the ball lining the 6 yard box and let everyone else go man to man.

He scores a few, but I'm surprised he's made it to the FL. Even last season when watching the NL highlight shows he seemed to make defensive mistakes that led to goals, especially in the opening games of the season.

As someone who watches a lot of SPL football. Rooney was binned off for the in-form Sam Cosgrove, Stevie May and James Wilson at Aberdeen. He was fourth choice there and left for the gametime. It's a weird one though. Players like Cosgrove were shit in League Two yet are raking in the goals in the SPL. Whereas Teemu Pukki couldn't find a goal at Celtic yet is taking like a duck to water at newly promoted Norwich. Martyn Waghorn (in the SPL at least) and Joe Garner were similarly crap at Rangers yet crafted good goalscoring reputations in the Championship and League One respectively.

Adam Rooney has always been distinctly mediocre in England though. A 1 in 5 striker in the Football League at best and somehow managed to be on 5 figures a week at Birmingham years ago which is scandalous.

We haven't won for 14 games, anyone else even close to that sort of streak?

Seems that after the security breach/ certificate the forum is harder to find what you are looking for.
