832 ‘tics at Grimsby even though 832 were sold in advance and it was POTD... can pretty much guarantee it was more than that. Noisey as ever and topped off with a cracking win.

People are claiming we didn't let anyone buy tickets on the day after 2pm which is scandalous if so. If that's true, utmost apologies to any Oldham fans that that happened to.

Last time I went to Grimsby as an away fan, stewards were directing fans without tickets straight to the turnstile when operator took the cash without giving a ticket. Suspect the cash was split between all stewards and gate men.

It is only partly true. I witnessed 2 old blokes pay on the day. Someone I know who came up from london was told "no potd... too late". He and his mate went in the home end.

There looked more than 830 to me, but being in the end always gives a false sense of it. If have guessed at 1000.

My mate used to be steward and they used to do shit like that all the time, once he was on the away end turnstile at a pre season friendly v Hull £10 cash to get in and him and another guy were pocketing £10 for every 8 people that went in he said they made loads as Hull brought quite a few.

There was between 800-1000, no more. Probably the noisiest fans we’ve had since promotion so fair play. “We’re taking over your town again” properly made me cringe though.

Haha it is very cringey and I think most of us know it. But it’s a bit like the ‘by far the greatest team’ chant in that we know it’s not really true.. it gets everyone going and that’s enough for me

832 Oldham.

Reading on Twitter the noisiest away fans we’ve had here in years apparently.

Noisy is fine but storming the home end and getting the players taken off for ten minutes is better.

Why do lincoln fans always take a photo of the away following on facebook post it on that league 2 page saying shit following.
Didn't even know there was a L2 Facebook group.

Any Facebook groups are generally shite. There's a Lincoln one that's terrible - it attracts all sorts of weird people.

300 less than we normally take. If we had sold out i bet we would have lost.

A tweet online suggests it’s the best following today in leagues one and two and more than one league one and a league two fixtures full attendance (Accrington and Morecambe). Not many clubs of our size would take that on the back of only six away wins in two and a half years!

Bit odd that we sold over 2,000, had 160 left out 2,200, but only had 1,940 there. Not great but understandable given our away form.

Still a good following at this level.

Seems to be a dearth of away numbers today- Can't find Colchester, Grimsby or Macc numbers anywhere

I think for a Saturday 15 miles away not selling out was pretty poor. Though 2 lads who go with us gave it a miss purely based on 17 away games with about 7 draws and 10 defeats.
Maybe a lot of apathy amongst our support but for me you got sell that game out whether you are top or 18th.
20 minutes in car.

I agree. What I find odd though is that we'd sold 2,000 before the Northampton game, according to Mike Baggaley, had 160 tickets left on Friday, according to the Vale, and yet 1,940 turned up. Suggests that not only did we fail to sell any tickets after we beat Northampton, but also over 100 fans that had bought tickets didn't bother turning up.

Not suggesting Crewe were wrong, or lying, it could be the info Vale were giving out. Highlights show there were plenty of seats free behind the goal next to their main stand.

Plenty were trying to flog them on facebook, imagine when it was ST only sales people purchased more than needed for mates potentially?

i would imagine as VF16 that is the first time a lot of people have seen us win away for about 4 years unless absolute die hards.
Last season it was Morecambe night match , Exeter and Carlisle and the season before MK Dons on Sky and Walsall when we were almost down anyway.

I went to Morecambe but prior to that despite going 8 to 15 aways most seasons my last away win was at Fleetwood in Sept 2015 ( The Colin Daniel game ) .

Utterly depressing so i guess can't knock anyone who couldn't be arsed.
