I think that was only for a week or so, he's not been seen at any friendlies since the behind closed doors one at Oxford City a couple of weeks back, nor has he been seen in any of the photos.

Well, if you could call it that (the media did).

Hess (apparently) called him a Fat Scottish **%**.

It was overheard by a steward who reported it to police. Police checked with Evans if he wanted to take it further. Evans didn't. He told the audience at his first Gills fans meeting that "TBF, I've been called a lot worse". No doubt

Gills played Dover last night. They are managed by Hess and they all got on well.

We still need a full back, winger and striker at the very least (excluding any potential outgoings) but I suppose there's less of a rush this season because of the transfer deadline being end of August compared to last.

I'm not entirely sure. We were interested in him at the same time as them, he joined them but they wanted to loan him straight out so i guess things just worked out?

Ah right, just googled up on that.

I'm not sure a loan to Oxford affects the compensation fee for Columbus Crew though? Whether he joins us on loan for a season or not, Columbus want to pay less for him and Motherwell want more for him as far as i can tell?

Former Celtic youth product signs on a 3 year contract from Ross County.
Fee undisclosed but reported to be £300,000.

Definitely hoping for a good season but it looks a bit tougher than last time.

It's so bloody hard for us to get a foothold in the Championship.
All the clubs have much better revenue steams than us, so we can't compete with the draft wages everybody is paying to plain average footballers.

Yeah, we've found it hard to improve the squad in the past 12 months without breaking the £10k wage cap.

Think promoted clubs need 2 or 3 real quality loans in the first season.

We went up with some good Championship experience in our ranks and managed to keep a settled side but Jordan Pickford and Adam Reach gave us that extra bit of quality.

Spent a bit of time on loan at Burton last season but it seems he'll be sent straight out on loan and not be involved in the first team on matchdays.

Latest on the never-ending Jamal Lowe to Wigan saga. Wigan have offered £2.6M but we're holding out for £3M. We don't need to sell so it would appear to be a case of either stump up the cash or forget it.

Could go either way I guess, but my gut says that Wigan will eventually find the extra needed. Happy to be wrong though.

Money isn't as free flowing in the Championship this summer compared to the previous two or three. FFP actually having an effect.

So despite having no owner, being under a transfer embargo, and facing the very real prospect of liquidation on July 31, we had Damien McCrory on trial for us today.

Can any Burton fans provide an insight? Good enough for NL?

Mccrory was a great servant for us and a very capable player.
He is hard working and for what he lacks in outright skill is made up for with application.
Good signing if it pans out

Seen as another Jackson Irvine, a gamble From North of the border but not as skillful.
Hopefully the gamble pays off, as we sold Irvine for 2.5 million.

Must be more close to signings I'd have thought as he's older than the two youngest players already here and he's off out on loan would guess they are too.
Short of defensive cover and an attacking option or two maybe.

If we do go up again then at least we doing it the right way with a way younger squad that's still developing instead of the same squad of players who have already failed at that level pushing 30 years old.
