Talking of Bury and trialists, we had Joe Skarz playing for us today away at Folkestone, don't think he impressed.

He's past it now.. i think he played less than 5 games in two years for us. He was either injured or went on loan to Halifax. Not league 1 quality now.

So Jamal Lowe, was named to start v a havant, but half an hour before Evans started instead. He wasn't at the game. KJ diplomatically said he gave him the weekend off due to us rejecting bids for him. Looks to be Lowe and his people are taking the piss abit. He was a PE teacher 3 years ago, now they are acting like he's Messi. All for a move to Wigan. Double your salary for a club who will struggle to stay in the championship playing in front of 10k fans a week.

Bolded the only bit that footballers really care about, regardless of how many times they kiss the badge. It's just a job to them tbf....

Not at all bitter then.
Not bitter, just think he can do alot better than Wigan to be honest. Also Clarke didn't throw his toys out the pram when he turned down multiple bids from Brighton. League one sides generally lose their better players, but failing to turn up for a match is pretty shitty. If Clarke was still here he'd have played every minute and give his all until sold.

They werent all Trialists there were about 5/6 who were at the club last season. No media were allowed in the ground for the game and some were moved away from the ground before the game whilst doing their reports.
One of the trial lists was striker Dan Rooney, who last played for Truro and so will know your manager. He played for us as a youngster, scoredwell at reserve level less so first team. Went on loan to Hartlepool but not a lot came of it.

If we do survive ill be suprised if it isnt much better than a mid table non-league side. We'll get tonked a lot but its all about surviving as a club. Hard to see anything in the near future never mind further on as we are not told anything officially.

Sorry to see Lowe leave but signs are he wants a move so not much we can do other than keep an unhappy player.

Can’t blame him. Signed from non-league, doubt he’s earned a fortune to date so this move can really set him and his family up.

His goals and assists tally will be almost impossible to replace and leaves us looking instantly weaker.

Pete O’Rourke saying we’re in talks with Cardiff over Rhys Healey returning (we had him on loan until January last season and he was set to be re-loaned for the rest of the season until that fateful Sala plane crash) . Really exciting player and will comfortably good enough at L1 level. Will be a permanent signing too as he now has a year left at Cardiff.

Massive coup if we get him back.

Agree. If it happens, I'll be excited to see how he gets on in L1. Far too good for L2 last season in the few months we had him with us. Not necessarily going to get 20+ goals a season but such an intelligent player and it felt like he could score anytime he had the ball at his feet in the final third.

Healey deal now done. Undisclosed (somewhere between £200>£300K I’d guess) but three years.

He’ll definitely score goals at this level.

We’ve got Brandon Thomas Asante trialling this evening. Looking at his history he appears dog turd. Anything to add Franchisees

He's got a lot of names.

TBH I don't remember ever seeing him play although he won a few awards as a youth player I think. Released by us so obviously was not part of our future plans.

Maybe one of the others will have more info.

Excellent news. Pete must have found a few quid down the back of the sofa to finance that one. :2thumb:

Always works hard, looks busy and exciting on the ball, but not much end product. Scored a fair few in pre-season games for us in the past and for the U23s as well as the county cup games but never in anything meaningful.

Had plenty of chances here but didn't stand out enough to get another contract. Think he'll eventually get somewhere, just needs the right club with a bit of patience.

He loves the franchise, him.

I’m sure he’s the one that got abuse from his own fans because he ‘liked’ Jordan Houghton’s tweet about his excellent goal at Mansfield in October.

Decent enough but never championship quality imo.

George Boyd to Peterborough, well past his best but will probably be steady at this level.

One of our former players, and now ex-Charlton midfielder Ben Reeves was at our pre-season game against Brackley Town last night watching the game on his own. Rumour that he played as a trialist in a behind closed doors friendly last week too.

Would be happy to have him back. Linked with QPR too.
