Lloyd Jones to Plymouth on loan. Surprising that - he is not the calibre of player Muff should be going for. He has barely played a minute for us in a year.

SkySports reporting that Barnsley have tabled a £200k bid for striker George Miller. Miller is currently on-loan with us from Middlesbrough.

Can’t fault his work rate, but slightly powderpuff in the final third. We need more in our position.

In other words he’s crap 90% of the time, no idea why Barnsley who normally scout well would want someone as poor. Saying that it would shaft us big time in terms of numbers if he were to go.

Isgrove has gone to Pompey on a loan deal. Very strange.

Barnsley are having a very strange transfer window. I get that the players you have lost are mostly squad players but now on a couple of occasions you've sold/loaned to direct competitors for promotion. I thought you had owners with a bit of money now so it's odd to see you jeopardise your chances of getting back into the Championship this way.

It’s not so much strange Isgrove has gone for reasons already mentioned but the fact it’s a loan deal to a promotion rival is quite weird. If we’re not getting a fee then a loan to a club we’re not in direct competition with would have made more sense. Unless it’s with a view to a permanent switch. I agree though that it doesn’t look good on our part even if both Moncur and Isgrove are surplus to requirements here, I mean Moncur has already popped up with a winning goal and you’ve only had him a couple of games.

He's not crap, he scored 8 in 16 for us last season and we were the worst side in League 1 for a long while. He's clearly not settled or you lot or you just don't suit his game. Only 21 too. He's good enough for this league and maybe higher up in a few years.

Definitely crap for us regardless of what he’s done before, he’s not the only one tbf. But he can’t trap a bag of cement and has little composure, we might not suit his game but I wouldn’t want to base a team around someone with his ability it would almost certainly get us relegated if we aren’t going down already.

You really shouldn't be basing your team around a 21 year old that's played about 50 professional games in his life to be honest. I guess that's more down to the mismanagement of your club though if that's the case.

Plenty of mismanaging at our place, hence where we are in the league and our chairman running back to where he came in November.

Joe Willock has rejected the chance to join Luton on loan. It appears he’s happy playing for Arsenal U23!

Twitter rumours ramping up as deadline day approaches. In terms of outs Lloyd Jones to Plymouth on loan makes sense well thought of here but needs games. Suggestion we are looking at Alex Baptiste as loan cover until end of the season. Was also something earlier in the week about Deji Oshilaja but nothing since.

We are also looking for a foward. Louis Moult and Jason Cummings have been mentioned. Latter might have something about it after being sent back to Forest as Peterborough were responsible for finding him a new club. I fully expect none of these things to happen.

The best news however has been reported by Pete O'Rourke who tends to be spot on. Has said Villa and Stoke have failed in bid to sign James Justin who is staying. Fantastic news if true.

I wouldn’t say he hasn’t settled, but he can’t hold a place down either through ability or form. Had a decent December but he’s not good enough to cement a start. Work rate and his pace are excellent but I can’t think of a player we’ve had who has missed as many one on ones as he has during his half a season.

I wouldn’t be adverse to signing Cummings. Although what happened to him after the first month of games? Is he an indictment of Posh’s season?

Oh I dunno, Jordi Hiwula was pretty good at that.

If this happens would sum up our season! Let our star defender go to Luton and then 6 months later sign one of their rejects. How far we have fallen.

He's a Plymouth lad and we sold him to Liverpool when he was about 16 I think so could be some truth in it.

Walsall have signed Oteh from us. He is a striker who is highly rated with us. I didn't expect him to go out on loan at all, so it has caught QPR fans off guard especially as we cannot sign anyone.

I really hope he does well, I have high hopes for him.

We’re back? How many times has this site crashed at crucial times? Didn’t it crash during the last deadline day?

Anyway, we signed Jason Cummings, Alex Baptiste and Aaron Connolly all on loan with none of our key players leaving. Connolly will only join up when he returns to full fitness, but for me he is the best signing out of those 3, as the likes of Manchester City and Celtic were looking at signing him. He is going to be a 8 figure fee player in a few years. I think he scored 4 in 3 games in the Checkatrade Trophy including against us!

Even though it feels like a life time ago, we brought in Jacob Butterfield on Loan from Derby and Billy Clarke on a free from Charlton.

Has been down for a while hasn't it. Anyway, I think we brought in Jermain Defoe and Niko Kranjcar. Great work by Harry.

Southend Fans - what can we expect in Theo Robinson? Will he fire the goals to lead us to 9th place in league 2?

Is he out of favour at your place? I'm thinking if he has a good loan we'll be looking to sign him permanently.

Well we were busy on deadline day.

Ins:
Billy King (Dundee United)
Graham Burke (Preston)
Ricky Holmes (Sheff Utd)
Tahvon Campbell (Forest Green)
Leo Da Silva Lopes (Wigan)

all on loan.

Outs:
Josh Parker (Charlton)
Navid Nasseri (Released)

Going all out to ensure survival then. Holmes will be a superb signing if we can get him fit, while Burke looked a level above at Coventry at the weekend. Good window for us!

Hope Burke does well but I struggle to see a future for him at PNE.

I see Aaron Connolly, who we signed on deadline day on loan from Brighton has finally joined the team for training this week. Was injured when signed so hasnt been able to link up with us until now.

Bit of an odd one really, highly doubtful he is going to force his way into the side, was signed when both Lee and Cornick were injured but with both back, Cummings barely getting a look in, and Lua Lua now the de facto option up front its doubtful he is going to get a game any time soon despite the fact he seems highly regarded. Taking a look for next season perhaps.
