Bit late in the day with the season being so close but anyone interested in a game of Last Man Standing for League 1?

Nice and simple game whereby you select a team to win their match in a particular gameweek and if said team wins you remain in the game. Same team cannot be used more than once in 1 game by a player (eg if I select Port Vale in the first round of a game, I wouldn't be able to use them again until we have the last man standing in that game) and each game will run until we have the last man (or woman - no sexism in my games) standing.

I will happily run it if we have enough interest (can't see that this has been run in League 1 so apologies if I am jumping on someone else's bandwagon)

Scoring System:
Main points available will go to the Last Man Standing but there will be some points available to those finishing in 2nd and 3rd.
The total points available will be based on the number of people who enter each competition with this total being multiplied by 100 to give the amount of points up for grabs. I will use this current game as an example below:

51 players entered the competition so 51x10=510 points available
This 510 will be broken down as follows:
  • 70% to the Last Man Standing = 357 points
  • 20% to 2nd Place = 102 points
  • 10% to 3rd Place = 51 points
These points can only be claimed if you claim 1st, 2nd or 3rd on your own merit. So using the 4 remaining in competition 1 as an example:

4froale and BetterCallSaul select teams that win but Bobbin' and Bottega Don don't. This would mean Bobbin' and Bottega Don would finish in tied 4th and receive no points whilst 4froale and BetterCallSaul would go on to face off for 1st and 2nd.
Should we reach a stage where we have 3 players left in and 2 players select losing teams then they would be classed as tied 3rd and would share the 3rd place prize.

Any unclaimed points will be rolled onto the next tournament.

I am basically trying to avoid situations where loads of people are sharing points, particularly where it could create a scenario where a few players share 2nd prize meaning the 3rd place finisher ends up with more points. I am sure it will proven to be flawed somewhere along the line but I will try to keep everyone in the loop regarding finishing positions and potential points available.

Rules:
  • Teams can only be selected once through the duration of any one tournament
  • Selections to be made 1 minute before scheduled kick off time
  • Each tournament will run until we find the Last Man Standing or until all players are elminated
  • Once we reach a stage where we have the final 5 participants, selections are to be made by PM to me. Once all selections are sent by PM, I will then post the selections in the thread. At this point no changes can be made to choices. In the unlikely situation that I reach the final 5 then I will send my selection to T.A and he will post my selection into the thread (he doesn't know this yet but he is a mod and he has an obligation to support forum activity whether he likes it or not)
  • SEE PAGE 33 FOR RULING ON POSTPONED/ABANDONED MATCHES
Hopefully this makes sense but if not then feel free to PM me or message me in the thread and I will try to pretend that I know what I am doing :D

Bradford v Port Vale
Bury v Charlton

I've added the first round of fixtures to the opening post so people might as well start posting their selections if they want to play

Same team by one player. So if MK Dons win and you progress to the next round of this particular game, you can't use MK Dons again. People can select the same teams in any one gameweek providing they have not used them before.

1 game runs until we have a last man standing
