1282 Luton fans standing in the dark at the top of the 15 year old temporary roofless Brian Moore stand. Crowd given as 5671 which seems a rather generous figure. The home stand looked quite sparsely populated.

Our away followings have dropped hugely since our last relegation from the Championship. Gone are the days of us taking 2500 to places like Rochdale on a Tuesday night like we did in the mid 2000s.
Still, I was expecting more. We took 2800 to Rotherham last season and it is a similar distance.

Be careful you don't get that tongue stuck firmly in your cheek.

Sunderland have been kind enough not to publish the away figure for tonight, we'd presold just over 1,500 so I reckon around 1,600 made the trip up. Me included, sadly.

I’ve noticed that the Refs are always against you.

1,525 according to some Twitter journos. Good turnout for a miserable Tuesday evening.

Cracking following from Barnsley for a night game.

Think the only game we've taken fewer than 1,000 to this season was 852 to Shrewsbury (also on a Tuesday). Who knew cheaper tickets and not being utterly hopeless would boost our away support? :bg:

Surprised Sunderland only had 900+ at Walsall . The Fa Cup is on its arse. No one gives a shit anymore, which is sad.

they had 3.5k there last week though so understandable.
I didn’t expect a massive following because of that, but they are riding high, and have momentum. I think it’s to do with it being a meaningless cup game, which all cups are viewed like now. People rightly prioritise games too.

Like most cups it only means summat in later rounds which is a shame, particularly with this great old trophy.

Oversaturation of PL/Europe is murdering the game we love.

Yep, I was surprised by that attendance. It's not a bad following by any means, just compared to their other followings this season its quite low.

Do Villa and Coventry fans realise that Sunderland fans don't live ten minutes from Walsall like they do?

I think given we had the same amount at Morecambe in the Checkatrade Trophy than at Port Vale in the FA Cup game that we just don't care too much about the FA Cup. Something that will likely be reflected in the replay home attendance.

I had a ticket for last Saturday but decided not to go as my mates couldn't be bothered and travel wasn't cheap to Birmingham.

Accrington Stanley away on Saturday ~2,600 away fans in what their fan liaison on our forum says will be another record attendance for them, after breaking it recently against Barnsley. The Northern Rail strike brings up a first, the first time I'll be getting a public bus to an away game.

Rovers have sold over 1,000 for their trip to the SoL next Saturday already, cracking effort from them.

yeah one of their fans was on our forum hoping they could get near 2,000 which would be amazing especially considering where they are in the table and the distance etc.

We haven't had any very low away turnouts at the SoL this season (Think Fleetwood's was sub 500 but that's a healthy portion of their home support)

Wondering what Plymouth will bring up when we play them in March. Think last time they were up here was a Tuesday night and they had around 1,300 which was class.

If either of us gets to the 4th round of the cup then our visit to you will be midweek - can't imagine us taking more than 200. If it stays on the Saturday then I reckon around 700 or so.
