This one should be an interesting tie. Switzerland haven't really got going at this tournament, they stuttered past Albania, drew with Romania but got a respectable draw against France.

But they don't look all that powerful upfront and Shaqiri has been poor on the whole. Can they step it up against a tough opponent and make the last 8?

Poland are another who have made hard work of their group. Scraped by Northern Ireland and Ukraine but got a decent draw against Germany.

This could be a cracker if both teams play to their best. All match discussion in here please.

This is a hard one to call not a lot between either of them, Poland have probably been the better side at the tournament while Switzerland have been pretty poor apart from the game against France. If Lewandowski finds his scoring touch then Poland could go on to win this, however I think the Swiss will find their feet here and take it 1-0.

Milik off and running already in this one, serving up his latest shitfest by missing an open goal after 30 seconds.

The Swiss team has not impressed in the group competitions. The Pols on the other hand, having no goal from Lewandowski, will surely have one from him. It will just be a matter of time. 1-0 or 2-0 Poland.

Poland look far the better team, the Swiss can't get a touch of the ball. How irritating is Lawrenson by the way?

Bla*kowski on fire. A goal in one end, block on the other end. Switzerland showing no signs of threat against Poland.

Really good counter attacking goal from Poland and well deserved, Switzerland have been piss poor yet again, no fight or creativity in them. The number 11 for Poland has been brilliant.

I can't work out what's wrong with Switzerland, they are a good side but have been dog shit all tournament. They must bring Embolo on fairly soon his pace will give these Polish centre halves something different to deal with.

1-1 an absolute stunner from Shaqiri contender for goal of tournament, stepped it up a bit Switzerland in this half. Think Switzerland will go on to win this now, they seem to have the physical and mental edge now.

I think the Swiss Goalie is asleep now that all the action is on the other end. :D

His bottling abilities will fit in well at Arsenal.

What a sick game. I thought it was going to be easy for Poland. But Switzerland really played well in the second while the Pols seemed to have rested a bit.

Poland through 5-3 on penalties, shocking penalty miss from Xhaka. Pleased for Poland because I think Switzerland have been poor this tournament, although that was a pretty even game as expected, can't rule Poland out of winning this they are definitely resilient and solid at the back.

Superb penalties from Poland on the whole. A little fortunate to get through, Switzerland bossed the 2nd half and ET. Got to fancy Croatia or Portugal to knock Poland out in the next round.

The Swiss were unlucky today, dominated the second half onwards. Stunning strike from Shaqiri who finally showed what he's capable of at these Euros.

Well that was a low quality game. The only player who showed real quality consistently was Shaqiri TBH.

In the first-half, Switzerland were for some reason ignoring their attacking talent and playing really negative, which should've costed them inside the first minute. As their negativity continued, Poland were always looking a threat on the counter-attack and got their goal through great work from all the front 3.

Switzerland then did attack more in the second-half, but they still weren't playing that well. Then Shaqiri decided he wanted to score. Shaqir then began to really control the game and they should've won the game in ET, as Poland were tiring out, and Lewa (who was superbly taken out of the game by the Swiss defense) and Millk (just generally poor) were having even less of an effect then they'd had been before.

I feel bad for Switzerland as they really deserved to win that game and a moment of madness from Xhaka costed them. If only they hadn't of been so negative in the first-half...

Not according to that first half. So boring.
You there mate?

Suprised at some of the comments. Thought that game was great. Poland are a hard nut to crack - one that Germany couldn't carve open - and it needed something special to score against. Saw possibly the best goal I'll ever see live while Fabianski made a couple of top saves. Great game.
