Strong performance by Italy, bit of statement put out with how comfortably they saw off Belgium. Few weaknesses to them, but they look like a rock solid with no real superstars and a real work ethic.

They should see off Sweden here I think, who didn't look up to that much against Ireland in their opening game.

Comfy Italy win here? Or can Sweden pull off an upset?

I think this'll be a tight game, Italy are solid defensively. I still don't think they've got enough attacking threat to go the distance.

0-0 or 1-0 Sweden.

Italy showing everyone how you do a national anthem. Rousing stuff. Love the passion.

Don't know why people care how players sing the anthem. Means nowt. Joe Hart belted out the anthem yesterday, look how that turned out. Brazil yelled it before the Germany game in 2014. I'd rather players did their shouting and showed their passion during the game, not before it.

Great game so far, we've outplayed the Italians, hopefully we get the goal(s) early in the second half.

Good half from us, but have a sneaky feeling the Italians will come out much stronger in the second half.

This was always going to happen. Italy love the backs-against-the-wall performances against the better sides but there's a distinct lack of quality to break down those who will sit back.

Wow, talk about a moment of magic totally out of the context of how the match has been.
This is the mark of a team who will do well in a tournament.

Italy being typically Italian. Giving nothing away at the back, having just enough quality to pinch results. Would like to see them against a better team.

Goal was out of keeping with the game - very dull but a quality strike to win it.

I was just thinking how Eder has done well for himself to get in the side ahead of Insigne who has had an amazing season where Eders has been pretty uninspired since his move to Inter.
Then he scored.

Another clean sheet for the impressive Italian defence, they are certainly playing to their strengths this tournament. They left it late to score the goal but that seems to be the norm this year, so many goals in the final 5 minutes of games, maybe that's down to teams losing concentration. Italy will be thrilled to have made it though at this early stage though, especially with the apathy around Italian national football at the minute. Think Sweden will struggle to get through now, it'll be a big ask for them to beat Belgium, definitely missed their opportunity against the Irish.

Not that entertaining game but also have to praise Italy defense. BBC trio is doing an impressive job for Italy. Also liking to see Lazio duo Candreva and Parolo despite the strongest sector of Italy being really the defensive.
