Hi all,

my name is Dirk. Hamburg born and bread. I am 53 years old and a big Football fan since the age of 6 when my father took me for the first time to the stadium to see our HSV and German Football Idol Uwe Seeler, one of only 4 honourary Captains of the German National-team

I am glad to have found this forum where I can discuss with fellow football fans from all over the world about my passion and I want also improve my language skills in English.

Finally one last remark: I'll try my best to make myself understandable in English but because it's not my native language there might be some errors and "bad grammar". Hopefully you can "overlook" it.

I see you are a Hammers fan. I like them, too. And I like Slaven Bilic since his playing days in the Bundesliga at Karlsruhe in the 90's.

Hi all,

my name is Dirk and I am from Lower Saxony in Germany. I watch the German Leagues and the British Leagues (England and Scotland, mainly via stream).

My favourite teams are the HSV in Germany ( and my Lower Saxonian team Eintracht Braunschweig,currently in the second Bundesliga), the Wolverhampton Wanderers in England and Celtic in Scotland.
I first visited Molineux back in the dark days when the Wolves were in the (then) 4th Division. Really depressing to see this proud club in the lowest division. But, hey, on the bright side: The Wolves are the only team who won a title in all 4 Divisions

Although I like the Wolves the most I have a "soft spot" for all the other (still existing) Original founder members of the Football League. Actually we have 4 in the PL, 5 in the Championship, 1 in League One and 1 in League Two Their results are the first that I am looking for after each matchday

I try to visit the UK as often as I can to watch a match but unfortunately it isn't possible as often as I would wish to. But thanks to streaming live games I am able to see my teams regularly live each matchday.

Welcome Dirk, nice to have another Wolves fan on the forum... I was getting lonely here.

You must have a similar story to my dad. He served in the army and was stationed in Germany for many years. He would travel over in the 1970/80's to watch us lose to the likes of Southport and that infamous Chorley game.

Look forward to reading your views on current events happening at Molineux.

Have you ever visited Deepdale?

Yes, it was in the 2000/2001 season (as far as I remember). It was the first time that Wolves and PNE were in the same division again for decades, right? So, a perfect visit for me. 2 Founder members of the Football League are playing and I could uncheck "Deepdale" from my list of "must see football grounds" (not that I am a groundhopper who has to visit football grounds worldwide but PNE is one of the abovementioned "soft spot" clubs for me, so I was very happy to see Deepdale (the result was a Wolves loss I remember. It was a bit easier to bear than a loss against other clubs. (btw: I can take losses of the German Nationalteam against England lightly, too but never losses against Italy )

Wonderful football ground and I shot many photos.

The Chorley game (thank God I wasn't at that match (I don't attend cup matches very often). One of those matches every Football fan of a club has to endure in his life. See what Celtic has done a few days ago against the "Mighty Red Imps" from Gibraltar
