Pretty sure them and Nürnberg are doomed.

3 points for St Pauli tonight and they'll be top of the table. Tomorrow Sandhausen will park the bus at the Volksparkstadion and take a point off HSV, while Union Berlin do the business over Koln.

Just perfect ;)

Darmstadt just made the 2-1 against St.Pauli in the 89th minute. Let's quote Vanni again

Exactly :D

LOL :ffs:

I was planning on watching the St Pauli game but then something cropped up and I just couldn't do so. So like me whenever I plan to do something, whether it be watching some football match or anything else really. I don't even know why I bother planning things in advance :(

But anyway, you lot should beat Sandhausen tonight but Koln's game tomorrow is a toughie, and hard to call. Yesterday I was thinking that a Union Berlin win would be better for St.Pauli's (slim) promotion chances but that was before they lost the game* and now I'm not so sure. U. Berlin are only three points off St.Pauli, and they'll be level on 34 if they win the game.

But that's not all....next St Pauli match is at home to Union Berlin........Hmmm, I think I want Koln to win now, or failing that, a draw.

hope you're right. Normally when I mock about other clubs HSV loses the next day, too. I really don't know how we'll come out of the winter break, have a strange feeling about this game. I'm off to the Volkspark in an hour

but Koln's game tomorrow is a toughie, and hard to call. I hope that Union wins or at least draws this match. Tbh I even want Union and St.Pauli get #2 and #3 and both promoted (together with HSV). Because then suddenly Germany's biggest cities have both 2 teams in the Bundesliga.

But that's not all....next St Pauli match is at home to Union Berlin........Hmmm, I think I want Koln to win now, or failing that, a draw.

That'll be a cracker. It's a Monday night match. Maybe I'll watch it at the Millerntor (if I can find my Pirate Shirt and Cap )

HSV won 2-1 but their GD still ridiculous compared Köln's (+7 compared to +25). Looking forward to Union/Köln tomorrow evening. May give it a stream if I can be bothered. Cmon Union!

HSV won the 1/8 final match in the DFB Pokal against Nürnberg with 1-0. "The club" managed only one shot on the HSV Goal. WTF!
Shots on goals at the end: 20-1, but only 1-0. Shows our lack of scoring goals, especially when Lasogga is injured. Anyway, HSV is under the last 8 in the Cup (the other Buli2 vs Buli 1 match yesterday (Heidenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen) was also won by the 2nd tier club. Today it's Holstein Kiel vs Augsburg. Hope our northern neighbours make it 3-0 for Buli 2.

A real cup cracker was Dortmund vs Werder. 3-3 after extra time and Werder won on penalties. Dortmund without Bürki (and also without 2nd goalie Hitz) so an inexperienced 3rd goalie had to play for the first time (he played for years in Werder's 2nd team in the 3rd/4th tier). He wasn't so bad but the 3rd goal for Werder was his fault.

The overtime was really dramatic. Werder came back 2-times, great fighting spirit I have to admit that. And 40 year old Peruvian Claudio Pizarro with a goal (and a penalty in the shootout).

******************

Last monday's top match of the Buli2 St.Pauli vs Union Berlin was also really dramatic at the end of the match. St.Pauli with a comfortable 2-0 lead until Union "blitzed" them with 2 goals in 80 seconds in the 84/86th minute. But then in stoppage time St.Pauli got a (deserved) penalty and ex-Frankfurt Cult player Alex Meier made it 3-2 with his 2nd goal of the match. So St.Pauli now on #2 (btw HSV lost at the weekend with 0-2 at Bielefeld where we had to play suddenly without Lasogga and Aaron Hunt due to injuries and bloody Sakai got a red card after 12 minutes. Anyway....we won in the Cup though ;) )

Not sure why the Pokal isn't on its regular broadcaster here in France (BeIn) so can't follow much. Well done for your win vs a side you'll most certainly in the divisional lift (what a yo-yo club Nürnberg have become). Hope you make it to Berlin (you won't).

Speaking of which, auf geht's Hertha BSC who just kicked things off vs Bayern in the last game of the round!

Most relegated club from the Bundesliga. They even were relegated the season after the won the German title in 1968. Must be the 10th time now when they go down again if I remember this right.

Hope you make it to Berlin (you won't).

Of course we make it to Berlin. End of April against Union :D

Quarterfinal draw for the DFB Pokal:

Schalke 04 vs Werder Bremen
Bayern München vs FC Heidenheim
SC Paderborn vs HSV
RB Leipzig vs FC Augsburg

So, at least one from Bundesliga 2 in the semi finals (hopefully it's HSV)

****************************

Sunday's matches from Buli1:

Werder Bremen vs Augsburg 4-0
Fortuna Düsseldorf vs VfB Stuttgart 2-0 (still playing)

So far 33 goals in 9 matches. Not bad.

edit: Fortuna won 3-0 at the end!

It's all panning out just like we were all expecting to in the second division isn't it. That is, moneybags FC K$$n and H$V H£mburg€r to go up this season. Money always wins in the end - and nowhere was this more evident than on Friday night when skint St Pauli went to bankrolled Koln and were duly walloped 4-1 :(

More of the same to come tonight when poor D.Dresden go to HSV and let in 3 goals or something.

On second thoughts, I hope HSV smash the racist fcukers 10 nil :2thumb:

Well Düsseldorf, thank fuck they've got the football because they have bugger all else to offer!

Was a nice train ride to Osnabrück on Friday to witness the 3. Liga league leaders lose against all odds to Sonnenhof Grossaspach 0-2. Not quite sure who was at which end of the table while watching this game.
The following day, I took a much shorter train ride to Duisburg to attend KFC Uerdingen vs 1860 Munich (if I understand this right Uerdingen have been relocated to MSV Duisburg's ground just for this season as their local ground is being renovated). Possibly one of the worst first half I ever watched but the second half was good. The "hosts" (ground was more than half empty) opened the scoring from a shot via a deflection but we equalised a couple of minutes later from a free-kick. Went down to 10 men on the hour mark but held on for an important point away from home. Still only 4 points from the drop so looks like promotion will have to wait another season. Let's hope we don't fuck it up and go down back to Regionalliga Bayern in 2019/20.
Which leads us to yesterday for F95's game vs Stuttgart. It felt like a Pokal game tbh, that's how bad Stuttgart were. At 0-0, the hosts' superiority was obvious and the scoreline really illustrates the difference between those 2 sides. The worst part is that Fortuna are not that good but VfB are this bad! They have great ultras who came in numbers at Düsseldorf (a couple of them stayed at the same hotel as mine) and I thought they didn't give them enough shit for such a dreadful performance. Seriously where is this club going?

It has been a thoroughly entertaining weekend in the Buli too what with Hoffenheim pegging back Dortmund to a 3-3 draw after being 0-3 down with 10 minutes to go and Hertha BSC destroying Gladbach at home. However, one result that caught my eye was Hanover beating Nürnberg 2-0 meaning that the Frankens are pretty much destined for bottom spot while the play-off spot will be strongly contested between VfB and Hanover. Frankly, I'm not sure if I want Stuttgart to stay up. This squad is so Buli Zwei level that staying up would be pretty senseless imo.

Overall a good weekend. Could have done with a bit of sunshine but hey ho.

Vanni: From where did you get the impression that HSV is a moneybag? They are not. Actually HSV has debts/liabilities in the amount of 85 million Euro. OK, that's not much if you compare this with some top clubs in Europe but St.Pauli has not even half of it, so they're nominally "richer" ;) Last business year HSV had a negative balance of 5.5m Euro (btw the 8th year in a row they had a negative balance although we have 50.000+ crowds on average but the money from the entrance fees is nowadays not the main factor anymore.
And, don't forget, unlike relegated Premier League clubs, the relegated Bundesliga clubs don't get any "parachute money" from the League to soften the downfall.

More of the same to come tonight when poor D.Dresden go to HSV and let in 3 goals or something.

On second thoughts, I hope HSV smash the racist fcukers 10 nil :2thumb:

We got only a lucky 1-0 win due to a slapstick goal in the 84th minute where Dresden's goalie made a fool of himself (although he was great otherwise for the whole match), I haven't expected it anymore that we would score a goal but when you get such a gift it would be rude to neglect it ;).
We're still minimalist in scoring goals (I think it's the first time ever that a club who scored only 28 goals in 21 matches gets 43 points and #1 in Bundesliga 2

Thanks for the detailed report. Totally forgot that this was the weekend where you came "Heim ins Reich" ;). How was the atmosphere at the Bremer Brücke? HSV has not so good memories there lately.
I can imagine that the atmosphere at Duisburg wasn't very intense. Always difficult when the home fans have to travel to a different city for watching their "home" match.

Nice try Dirk, but how else can Aaron Hunt be on at least €80,000 a week if HSV weren't bankrolled? ;)

Seriously though, yes I know that you lot are in the red to the tune of around 80 million so I'm only kidding. BUT I wasn't sure about parachute payments in German football though, so thanks for illuminating me. TBH I had come across something about this in some article on the web but I thought the author was mistaken. At the time I remember thinking that surely the relegated clubs from the top tier of the Bundesliga do get some sort of 'solidarity' payment so to speak but now I see that I was wrong and the author of that article I'd read was indeed correct  Cheers Dirk!

By the way, there's a video on Youtube of the Dynamo fans unfurling that huge dragon banner on Monday. Nice bit of choreography and all that but what is the message they're trying to put across? It's definitely not something complimentary to HSV that's for sure!

"The Dino (aka HSV) is (eating) shit" Tbh had to laugh about it when I saw it in the stadium but I can't stand pyro in the stands. Fucking smoke for quite a time.

edit. just looked for it at yt. Do you mean this one?

Cheers. Re. pyro, I'm with you. I don't mind flares and smoke bombs and the like, in fact I think it helps with the general atmosphere at football grounds but then again the smoke does take quite a long time to clear. Plus, and far more importantly, I always think of those fans with breathing problems. Just because I don't suffer from asthma doesn't mean that nobody else does. In other words, fans in favour of pyro at stadiums are being selfish.

Mit dem Gegentor haben sie sich wohl eher selbst in den Mund geschissen

^ That's like a '2 in 1special' ;) so no it's not the one(s) I did watch. It's these two below, IIRC because quite a few videos do look very similar and probably show the same footage :pond:

This is great! Hamburg drew and Köln lost so Union, Heidenheim, Paderborn, St Pauli and Kiel are all in contention for 2nd spot. Just 4 points seperating 6 sides! Let's all hope Union get it yeah?

Jesus! Not a single post here since Feb.17th :ffs:

tbh I don't know why I still post here when nobody cba....but anyway. What has happened in this long time in Buli 1 and 2?

Dortmund lost the comfortable lead (up to 9 pts at one point) to Bayern. Actually both are equal on points ( and Dortmund only first atm because of the slightly better Goal Difference of +2).
Actually they're bottling it big time at all frontlines. They're already out of the Cup, today they have the Champions league 2nd leg against Spurs and most likely will be out (Only a wonder could help to erase the 0-3 from the 1st leg). And now they even could lose the lead in the Bundesliga (they still have to play in Munich).
***************

Bundesliga 2: HSV lost the lead to Köln again. The Geissböcke have Anthony Modeste back from China and he already saved them a few points. Union Berlin has shorten the gap, too. Actually, HSV is at #2, 1 point behind Köln and 3 points ahead of Berlin.

We had a crap match yesterday at the Volkspark. Thank God for Aaron Hunt and the referee, we could make it 1-0 at the end although we didn't deserve it.

With this shit performance we don't have a chance on Sunday at the Millerntor when we're playing St.Pauli in the "Battle of Hamburg" :D.
Those of my mates and colleagues who are St.Pauli fans already get on my nerves with their constant mocking. They knew that I'll attend this "away" match. And my wife was really shocked when I told her that I am going to the "Freudenhaus (der Liga)" (brothel (of the league)) on Sunday until she realized that I meant the Millerntor, not the Reeperbahn  (she's a bit devasted anyway at the moment that her beloved Dortmund could bottle it big time).

The Pokal kicked off this weekend with “cupsets” taking place at Kaiserslautern (beating Mainz) and SC Verl (beating Augsburg).
