Etihad Stadium- Manchester City FC Ground Guide

How Easy Was The Ground to Get To (from the station, by car, etc)

Drove on every visit, though there is a station about a 10 minute walk away from the ground that you can get to from Piccadilly I believe. For driving, the ground is well signposted from the M602.

If Applicable, How is Parking Near The Ground?
Lots of car parks around Pottery Road and along Ashton Old Road. Traffic is generally awful getting away, so I tend to pick one of the ones on the right hand side of Ashton Old Road as it's slightly quicker getting out.

Based on Where You Were Sat, How Was the View?
Modern stadium, good views all around. Unless you happen to be sat on the front row and all the stewards stand in front of you while City take a penalty in front of the away end...

If You Ate at The Ground, How Would You Rate the Food?
Pricey, but decent. Good choice and good quality.

How Was The Atmosphere At The Ground, From Both Sets of Supporters? Does the Stadium Hold the Noise?
It's pretty good on its day. Im interested to see how building the third tier and splitting the away fans between all three will affect this.

How Are the Pubs and Local Attractions in The Local Area?
Pretty much all the pubs around the ground are total no go for away fans.

Overall Score Out of 10?
Decent all round really, bar the cost of everything and the traffic.
8/10

By road, the M6 was it's usual self, and getting into Manchester was slow and painful.

We found a local driveway to park on through one of those apps, pay a few quid for the pleasure. It was in what looked like the old athletes village, which is quite a large estate of new looking properties. There did look to be some on road parking dotted around.

Based on Where You Were Sat, How Was the View?
I was sat / stood towards the bottom of the third tier. Credit the stewards for allowing everyone to stand. The view was very good, although as someone used to smaller grounds I did feel quite far and remote from the action. I imagine you can't really go wrong anywhere in the ground like most modern builds. Although I know some people who were towards the back of the top tier commented that they needed binoculars to make out which player was which though!

Looked very pricey, didn't bother.

The third tier is complete now, indeed our visit saw a new record attendance for The Etihad. The atmosphere was pretty underwhelming however. One loud blast of Blue Moon aside, which was pretty deafening, there was nothing. I've sure against more Illustrious opposition than ourselves, and in a more contentious and competitive match, that more of the City support would get going.

The ground is ascetically stunning, that must be said.

How Are the Pubs and Local Attractions in The Local Area?
Nothing around the area for away fans to do. Certainly nowhere to drink unless you do so in the City centre first. The locals are very friendly and chatty though.

Superb and impressive looking arena, and if that’s your bag then you’ll love it. However it’s not great for most traveling fans IMO. In time hopefully more facilities will be built up around it. And if you just head into the ground because there's nothing else to do, you'll find the prices of food and drink pretty eye-watering.
