Than why not use the PM function?
What are you on about? To welcome someone to the forum? Dont be ridiculous. For someone reason I seem to have got under your skin. Not exactly sure why since I now no longer post about Alfreton in the match threads.

Why is it ridiculous to welcome someone by PM? You're adding nothing to a thread by posting welcome to the forum, other than to your post count. It doesn't get under my skin since I don't live on this forum, but it doesn't add anything interesting. Kind of like drums at Football

Jared I am not going to continue to argue with you over such a petty issue as this. Its just simply a goodwill gesture. I dont care about my post count as I have already told you. I wont be sending it by PM to anybody.

It ruins the flow of the thread too. But then if we don't see 'DSL' post welcome to people, what would the moderators actually be contributing?

Drums are alright, however other instruments, or air raid sirens, are not. The England band are a bit annoying tbh.

Our siren is great, fuck what others think. It's great that we appreciate our local links to the RAF and the Dambusters. It's what makes us unique.

As for drums, if they help create an atmosphere then I'm in favour. Sometimes they can ruin it though, so it depends who's doing it.

It ruins the flow of a thread, killing a few for something easily done by PM.

As for bands, the England one is terrible. I used to like the Wales one but who ever does their Twitter is a childish buffoon who likes to slander people and block them so they can't respond to false allegations and distortions

I agree it's great about you appreciating your links to the RAF and the Dambusters, always great hearing the theme played before our games at SB etc. Is that mosaic ever happening, looked awesome.

There are other classier ways of showing appreciation then a shitty air raid siren going off when you take corners though.

County have had a drum for pretty much all my time following County, and several different drummers down the years.

A good drummer definitely helps things - I've noticed at games without someone keeping the rhythm, the happy clappy club ruin songs by trying to go far too fast & it ends up petering out. People who think speed = atmosphere want shoeing; it sounds great when Spurs fans going "Oh when the Spurs..." hauntingly slow & is something I try to point out to happy clappers

My mate's dad does the air raid siren, it's a huge part of our history having been used for at least 20 years.
The dambusters mosaic wont be happening now sadly.

Drums work well for us and Lincoln.. but what's up with 100 FGR bringing a drum to sing one song in the 92nd minute?

Tbf we did sing more then that, you just couldn't hear us over your lot, who made decent noise for a change. Even at the end you didn't turn on your side or all leave early, which is good to see. Seems Mellon has galvanised your club.

I think there are two air-raid sirens now. One was in Upper 7 and then at the Dover game, one appeared in Upper 4 as well.

I'm not sure why H&S banned them for so long but now they're ok.

Gary Brabin distanced himself Day one from the fans, much as Dave Watson did when we got relegated from the Championship to league one with a team that had reached the league cup final the season before.

I think all the Tranmere fans there could see we did not "bottle" it and it was just one of those nights where the tiny details didn't go our. The impact of Mellon and also the drums has definitely lifted the atmosphere. It was louder against Solihull though.

I don't mind the drum at our ground, if nothing else it helps people keep in time and encourages those sat in the main stand to join in. What I don't like is goal celebration music, which made an appearance during our game on Friday, hopefully never to be heard again...dreadful, quite dreadful.

I agree TJF, maybe try and catch Dale's ear at the next game...he wanted rid of the old club badge because he said it was copying Barcelona, maybe if we can make him see that using goal celebration music that is associated with one particular club is plagiarism then this will go the same way.

I hate the bloody things some fool tapping away consistantly losing rhythm or only being able to tap out that 1 2 , 123, 1234, 12 thing.
That used to be one of our best chants many years ago. Sadly doesn't work the same with current squad numbers.

That is my biggest hate. Goal music.

I don't care what level you are at, if you have this then you are a disgrace.

We have had ours for 23 years and I still hate it. It is particularly bad as we only nicked it from Aston Villa after a League Cup semi-final.

Then again, they played music after every corner so perhaps we should count our blessings......

Blimey!

It's still shit though. I still see the 12 year old kids from Stevenage giving it when Tom Hark was played after they scored against us.

Massive no no from me. I will be so pissed off if we get it.

Doesn't Dane post on our forum as Stadium Manager, I guess he might chance to read the thread that seems to have developed about the matter, or maybe someone PM him and bring his attention to it.

Or mention it to Joycie, expect he gets some input or could pass word on.
