Spending money on any player, for any team is a risk, that is football, nothing specifically new that Wolves are doing. Man City have spent close to £1 billion since their takeover, many of their signings have been risks but have paid off. Other teams spend money and it doesn't pay off.

I would like you to give a reasoning for why you think Patricio and Moutinho aren't very good signings for a club like Wolves though. Most people in the media seem to think they would walk into any side outside the top 6 but I'm sure you know better.

I think Mark is more excited about the pedigree and stature of the names brought in rather than the actual quality they will bring to the squad. That's what I got from "never would I ever thought such and such player to grace Molineux" but that's me.

Courtois left for Real Madrid with Kovacic and some other dude coming the other way on loan. Smart move by Sarri. He definitely needed to strengthen his midfield and Courtois is not essential as much as a quality midfield pairing might be.

EDIT: I do confirm though that Moutinho better playing days are behind him.

You want me to give reasoning to something I haven't said? You're funny you. My comment was in reply to you saying this about them

"don't think Wolves fans ever dreamt of seeing names such as these grace Molineux"

Like what  You've not signed Ronaldo. You're a PL club with money and lots of connections - the likes of Moutinho with fading legs is a profile you should be able to attract if you want them. This is the level of the PL now. So many posts of yours are just massive begs for conpliments which whilst tedious wouldn't be so bad if you didn't throw a hissy fit whenever someone passes an opinion that doesn't tally with your fantasy.

Those players aren't even that good.

Stop lying, your quote is here.

Moutinho played 44 games in the French and Champions League last season, and played 4 games in the World Cup... you say he has 'fading legs'? I can't wait for your expert analysis on Rui Patricio.

I'm open to any critique on our team if it is merited. It's hard to converse with you as you clearly have no argument or knowledge on what you're talking about as proven above. Shows for a guy who has never attended a football game in his life.

Go on, amuse me. Why is it absurd to think Wolves fans who have supported the club through countless divisions wouldn't expect to see players like Patricio and Moutinho? I even evidenced this in my initial post, saying the last time we were here we signed garbage.

Last reply because wasting time talking Wolves is a tragedy for my life.

I've already told you - you're a PL club with money & connections. The fact they are at Wolves proves my point. You're making out their arrival is some kind of miracle when to everyone that else it's the circumstance of being in the PL with scope to expand the wage bill.

Do you do this whenever some random Chinese club sign a high profile player or do you recognise the obvious? You need to grow up tbh.

Having the likes of Moutinho and Patricio arrive at a club like Wolves is a huge coup for us. You're making it sound like that because we have the Mendes connection we can sign any of his clients without it being an issue. Under that logic we could have signed another Mendes client like Ronaldo and you would have said some other crap about how we shouldn't get excited about it as it about being "a PL club with money and connections". Hell you would probably say his legs are fading too

One thing is for sure, this is the best Wolves team of my lifetime, and it's gunna be a hell of a ride.

Dagenham and Redbridge
2 odd signings.

Carlos Sanchez, who I’ve always thought to be awful, to West Ham. Surely a downgrade on kouyate.

Andre Gomes to Everton. Always thought of him to be incredibly average and overhyped.

We had a great window except for selling Barry Douglas. With Zinchenko falling through on the 11th hour we are weaker at LB than we were at the start of the window. Hopefully Vinagre can step up.

You and Fulham have done very well signing the players you have. Could've done with Vinnie splashing the cash on us but his reluctance due to Mackay and Moody is going to bite us on the arse big time.

I think you've had a classic Warnock window. Big emphasis on team spirit and ethos, less so on quality, without sounding disrespectful. The saving grace is that if you do go down you're in a good position to come straight back up, as most of your team will stay and are proven good Championship players. You'll make a nice tidy profit on the way.

There is no garuntee our and Fulham's teams will gel, we have both brought in 10+ players (although 4 of ours we on loan last year). More risk, more reward (or more failure) for us two.

Sell this one to me AFCB_Mark.

Is he better than Mane, like Deeney?

At least between Austin and Ings you now have two functioning knees up front, just a shame they're on different strikers!

Right where’s SALTIRE to suggest he’ll outscore Harry Kane and get five less than Salah?

Can't disagree with any of that tbf. The spirit and ethos is what got us over the line last season. We're undoubtedly following in Burnleys footsteps from a few years back. Hopefully we can avoid the drop but can't see it in all honesty. At least we don't have any useless donkeys on 50k a week this time round.

Christian Pulisic signs for Chelsea, officially confirmed.

Will join in the summer, apparently.

Hazard replacement for the future?
They bought his passport, he's American. His numbers are underwhelming and he's never been a regular for Dortmund. I'd be surprised if he makes it long term.
