Leeds or you lot depending on which part of town you’re in.

I grew up two miles from the West Yorkshire border and the only clubs supported in the schools I went to were us, Man Utd and Liverpool. Never knew anyone who supported Leeds or either Sheffield club.

We had odd glory bin dipper when I grew up but was mainly a split between the two Sheffield clubs. Find it a tad disheartening seeing kids now wander about in "Top Four" shirts or Real/Barca knowing their footballing education comes from their front room rather than a stadium

We've all seen on Social Media them vids by parents taking their kids to their first match and the awe the young uns show, most of us were like that without the camera and the feelings we still get if we score, win, or lose are far more intense and real than Jack aged 15 from Truro who's closest trip to Old Trafford is the canvas on his wall or Football Manager.

Being a nothing town in the Midlands we had a good mix. At school it was Villa, United, and Liverpool the main three clubs . Those three clubs and Wolves are the main four clubs in town . Wolves fans say it’s a wolves town, but is it ****. A good indication is the train station on matchday. You get far more villa fans that go to games than you do wolves. Always been the same for as long as I’ve known it. They say they can’t get tickets , but where were they when you could easily get tickets for Wolves.

Out of the London clubs Chelsea are the best represented, and they are mostly old school Chelsea too, so they are sound. There’s a few Newcastle fans, but that’s only because of the pit . I only know one Newcastle fan that hasn’t got links to the North East. A sprinkling of Everton and Spurs. Leeds have decent numbers. Albion , Blues, Stoke , but not the numbers you’d think they might have.

I grew up 5 miles from the West Yorkshire border (not sure what the relevance is) and there were plenty of Leeds and Wednesday at my school. No Blunts tho.

I'll never understand it, they'll never have the feeling of enjoying the whole day out with their mates who they've grown up with.
It's usually more about the day out than the football especially away matches.

Agreed - was taken to the pub near Elm Park aged 16 for my first pint. Met mates in there over the coming years, countless away games, never looked back. Can't beat it.

Not sure how old you are but I'm guessing it would fit in with when Leeds and wednesday were both pretty good. I know a few blades from rotherham but none from Barnsley or doncaster.

They were non league up until a few seasons back. Although it’s in Staffordshire, it’s more like a Derbyshire town .
Burton has mostly Derby fans, a few Villa and a few Birmingham, Derby has always had a lot of support from Burton, Uttoxeter has Stoke and Derby. And yes one thing I love about Sheffield, is most people over the age of 18 support Wednesday or Sheff United, unlike Leeds who have a massive Manu following living there, why, I will never understand a Yorkshireman supporting Manu.

Use to know a lad from Wakefield West Yorkshire massive Manu fan, told me many stories back in the late 80s early 90s when Manu use to take over the Leeds home ends, he said he had plenty of fun at Elland Road back in the day.

Fabrication. Never happened. Embelishment for his audience.

Both were still premier league when I left school, just about.

One thing I've found is that a lot of these supposed 'fans' of Utd, Liverpool etc, is that they never have been or ever will be a success at anything in their life. Once every couple of years though, they get to go the pub with their shirt on and celebrate winning something.

I grew up in the West of the borough - there was one Leeds fan in my school year of 250 odd people. Most who didn't support Barnsley (or Man United/Liverpool) were Wednesday fans. The 4 Blades fans I knew were Man United fans before they went up to the Prem in 2006, but have stuck with them since then tbf to them.

It's as true as Leeds taking the Derby home ends, Bristol home ends, Sheffield home ends etc, it's who you listen to, Leeds take nothing now a days like the rest of us, your Leeds United and you live in the past.
