Yeah, unbelievable. Not seen a storm like that for years. At least neither side were 2 or 3 goals up. Not sure when the game will be re-arranged though as we have a EFL Trophy game next Tuesday. Maybe the EFL Cup will trump that.

Be a bit of added spice in the re-arranged game if we pull a plum tie in the draw tonight.
Doesn't really get any more plum than this tie though so unless we get FGR away in the next round it will be something of a let down.

You know what they say, 5-0 is the most dangerous lead in football....

Utter shambles, defence was supposed to be our strength. I suppose the only positive is 3 of our 4 best defenders aren't playing.

Tottenham at home next up - can't really complain, but having had them at home just a couple of years ago it's a bit boring. Shame it's not away for the new ground.

Incredible draw for me as my Dad and brother are lifelong Chelsea fans. Think the rearranged fixture could be packed now and we don't typically do well in front of a big home crowd, not to mention Macc's recent form against us, but now would be the perfect time to put it to bed.

Mother nature just wanted to spice this massive fixture up a bit clearly.

Guessing you were too young (maybe not even born?!) when we played them in the mid 90s?

Usual 96th minute goal for Wednesday after a very even game.
Was looking forward to the penalties but you just knew the big donkey would score from the corner while we were down to 10 men.

I remember the home game well, fresh from demolishing West Ham 3-0 the previous round we went at Chelsea from the first whistle and were by far the better team but missed chances and then got spanked 4–1 in the replay.
Bizarre feeling though seeing Ruud Gullit play at Blundell Park, I don’t think he was a fan. ;)

Yeah very slightly before my time, started going a couple of years later so this would be a new fixture for me and an exciting one. My Dad took me to very few Town games because he wasn't a big fan himself and I remember very well rejecting a Chelsea strip as a kid to his dismay  so the thought of us going there and beating them, however unlikely, is incredible. The Macc game will probably feel as big as a playoff final for me.

Good draws for Grimsby/Macc and Colchester. Crawley is abit meh for them I guess, but at home and it's winnable.

What gets on TV this round, it will be a tough call for Sky:
Portsmouth Vs Southampton
MK Dons Vs Liverpool
Preston Vs Man City
Colchester Vs Tottenham
Sheffield Wednesday Vs Everton

I'd say that would be there order of preference.

Seen us lose heavily at Stamford Bridge before, bit boring to do it again.

A great draw for us, shame we will lose against Macc, we never win when we get a plum tie in the next round.

I prefer to remember our visit to Stamford Bridge in December 1983 when we won 3-2 having been 2-0 down. It was the day that the IRA bombed Harrods an hour or so before kick-off and there is very little media related stuff from the game as most reporters were called away to cover the bombing. London was in gridlock after the game as the whole City came to a virtual standstill.

That West Ham game is one of my favourites of all time. That whole season had a lot of memorable stuff. Spanking Luton 7-1 in the third round, beating Buckley's WBA, Ivano Bonetti and Brian Laws bust up, playing West Ham and Chelsea twice and of course Clive Mendonca returning from almost a year out with a hattrick on my birthday.

That West Ham game was also the scene of the "Most Uncomfortable Handshake" ever! :bg:

It was crazy just how one sided it was because in the away game West Ham could’ve scored 7 or 8 and we were hanging on for dear life for the whole second half, pretty sure they hit the bar 2 or 3 times and had a couple cleared off the line and Coyne made some ridiculous saves too, then they came to Blundell Park and were absolute turd for 90 minutes and we should probably have had 7 or 8 ourselves that night.
Shame it all went sour with Laws because under him we played the best football I’ve ever seen us play, even better than under Buckley.

Yeah, he added a bit more directness or something. I was still fairly young when he came in, but was just starting to realise that under Buckley we passed the ball a lot more than other teams. I still think 97/98 Buckley Mark II was the single best season in my watching life, in terms of football played. When Laws' Town teams were good though, I felt like they could both pass and steamroller their way through other teams. Never really felt that with a Buckley side.

Does anybody else spend most of the draw, as each shit draw home team comes out going ‘oh no don’t be us’ or is it just me?
And also the opposite if we've been knocked out, going 'oh no don't be them' each time a good draw home team comes out.
