Belgium once again come into this tournament with a decent looking squad, but I think looking particularly suspect. First they have the vastly overrated Roberto Martinez in charge, so bank on their defence looking iffy. Then he left Nainggolan and Defour out of the squad yet included Fellaini for....reasons. Yes, they have a formidable team on paper, with Vertonghan, Kompany, Alderweireld and Vermalen at the back, Dembele and De Bruyne in midfield and Hazard, Lukaku and Mertens up front.

But they always seem to play well below themselves and seem like a group of individuals rather than a cohesive team. They should get out of the group, but I think they'll come up short against the better teams later in the tournament.

As for Panama, they are making their tournament debut. Will they offer up much resistance in this one? They have a lot of experienced players, a third of their squad is 30 or over. But this might be a step too far for them. A draw would be lovely.

All match chat in here.

That Roman Torres would snap Jesse Lingard in half.. with his thighs.

So the “Golden Generation” are not performing again. Martinez plays De Bruyne far too deep and Lukaku is completely out of form, he desperately needs a goal.

Belgium playing as if they think they can just walk the ball into the net. You have to move the other team about and move the ball at speed to do that against any defence at this level.

Why do Belgium keep insisting on appointing shit managers? That group of players shouldn't be as underwhelming as they always seem to be in every tournament.

Well this certainly hasn't gone the way we'd expect so far. Panama giving it a go to their credit, Belgium looking disjointed.

Panama do make a lot of errors on the ball though, which will be exploited sooner than later.

That came out of nowhere. Well executed but lucky because they started terribly once again and it was just an opportunistic effort.

Belgium are creating fuck all against a side that have been thrashed 6-0 by the Swiss and 4-0 by the Americans over the past few months. Got to give them credit that Panama side have bust a gut, but Belgium remind me of England.

What a ball from KDB for Lukaku. That's why you want him around the box, not on the halfway line Roberto.

And that’s why you don’t play De Bruyne deep..

It’s weird to say that a 3-0 score for Belgium against Panama completely flatters them.

There has been less ogling this tournament than in others I've noticed. Brazil the other year was terrible. Each break in play was just a chance to perv for the directors.

Yeah it did a bit. That being said, it was a bit like an FA Cup game where class came through in the end ater the underdogs put up a decent fight.

Reckon if we win today we're pretty much through.

Remember the South American (I think) lady with the large breasts and the phone strategically placed between them?

I do.

Panama looked an extremely limited side and barring a completely catastrophic performance, England will beat them.
