Can see this being a tight affair as Arsenal will not want to open up against us with their iffy defense. Don't see us losing, but I'll go for 1 - 1.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Scrappy Liverpool win.

Curious start to this, chances for both sides. Not sure what the commentator is on about saying Mane wasn't active for his offside effort.

Shame we couldn't see it through but Arsenal were good value for the draw.

Good even game, I thought. More or less what I expected from the Man City v Liverpool dud a while ago.

I'm hearing reports that Fabinho's performance in this match was an utter train wreck.

True?

Looked quite poor to me, but Torreira and Xhaka (imagine that) were running things in midfield.

He's been good the last few games, against Red Star and Cardiff, but Arsenal are another level and he was overwhelmed at times. He'll see now why he wasn't playing in those big matches these last few months, and hopefully he'll be all the better for it, as he does look class as an all round midfielder.

The Goonerz deserved the draw,we would have been extremely fortunate to stroll out the Emirates with maximum points ,that said, the most clear cut chances fell to us and those misses proved costly. I suppose its matches like these against inventive and more composed midfield's that may prove the wake up call to the manager,Milner was wasteful and sluggish albeit from his goal ,it was evident from the off that Fabinho needs runners in the middle otherwise he's facing a thankless task sitting in front of the back four under persistent pressure and against Arsenal there was just no composure from Milner and Gini our ball retention in the middle was weak and Arsenal dominated possession.

The plus points are obviously our defence and the imperious form of Gomez to such an extent he is now trusted to stay back whilst the big Dutch fella pushes forward, Van Dijk himself was once again superb and should have slotted only for the intervention of Leno.

Some of Arsenals football was majestic yesterday ,it was my first away match of the season and when we arrived at the ground the Arsenal boys were in full voice and seemed to sense something magical was going to unfold on the pitch ,have to say there was an air of trepidation among our traveling support who knew if the Goonerz were on their A game they would be too much for the aging limbs of Milner. I thinks its now imperative to our season the manager finds a system that spares Milner from being completely overrun ,I mean we learnt our lesson when our former incumbent deemed Gerrards best position as a holding mid and he was cruelly exposed at a time when he should have been winding down his playing career....Lessons clearly need to be learnt and we need to expunge the chance of that happening again with Milner because yesterday the game brought back painful memories for most Liverpool fans present at the Emirates.

One page? Seriously, for such a gteat game... this forum has died out. The old school have moved on, there's no new kids on the block.

Anyway, enough about Arsenal

I'm still here trying to focus on how great it is to be disappointed with a draw at Arsenal.

Then I immediately return to being depressed about our absolute peak as a fooball team over 30 years coincides with the best team in the history of the Premier league, but that's showbiz baby.

Yeah it is strange, we are up there but it doesn't feel like it when you see City and Chelsea winning by 4 or 5 every week.

Both teams have a tricky run of fixtures in the next few weeks ,Chelsea host the bitterz and City have the Manchester derby then they travel to the Hammerz back yard and then there's a Burberry Chavfest at Wembley for Chelsea ,whilst we have Fulham at our place and Watford away.

Yeah we have kind fixtures but still have Utd to play and the bitters who might make more of a fight of it this season. Just got to keep in the mix till the turn of the year.
