We have our own matchday thread for Saturday, and so for that reason. I'm out.

Col U away for us on Saturday. Tuesday nights 1-0 HAMMERING of Swindon has convinced me to go. Think Curle will look to shithouse a win again which I’m not too bothered about.

As these all in one match threads are cropping back up maybe we should have a vote on whether this should be the way forward instead of individual threads, and then, just ignore the result like last time. :bg:

Will our defence find itself on Saturday? If Walsall park the bus, will we be able to find a way through?

One minor thing that worries me is the wisdom of pitching a ref into his first game at this level at what is likely to be a the highest turnout in league two on Saturday. This is in no way judging him in advance. Having done just one year at the NL and now onto the EFL, someone clearly rates him. But it is asking an awful lot of him, and the crowd will be on his back. Hope his assistants are a help.

Ryan Lowe has confirmed that we have signed a striker this morning but has not announced who. High possibility that it is Zack Rudden on loan from Rangers. If Walsall are anything like Salford, we are going to need all the help we can to try and break them down.

Injured the first couple of games but has impressed me over the last week or so. Great movement, has a low centre of gravity to roll the imposing centre halfs and shoots on sight. Going to be a big player for us this season I think.

Another long trip for us, this time to Morecambe.

We have a great record at the Globe but Morecambe have made a decent enough start so won’t be easy at all.

Wonder if we can score more than 1 goal but keep our impressive defensive form? Hope so. I will go 2-0 to us.

Ajose to break his duck with a brace.

Sounds like Brexit to me....

I’m gonna defend the “single match threads” in that frankly I couldn’t be arsed to sift through Mansfield, Notts County, Lincoln and Grimsby bickering at the time to find out whether an opposition fan thought we were crap. This year you can substitute those clubs with “everyone plus FIRTHY” - I’m happy out thanks.

We are desperate for a win on Saturday. Don't care how, we just need three points.

Chance of the locals to get on your players backs if you go a goal down early?

Think a hybrid of a single match thread and multiple ones per game, works well wither way depending on who's playing who.

We have Crawley at home, another team who like us don't seem to have any consistentcy.

We may well make one or two changes as we've been playing more or less the same side for all 4 league games.

Ollie Palmer and Glen Morris make their returns to Brisbane Road, as well as Josh Doherty who signed for us but never played a competitive game.

No idea what will happen, but at least our new strikers are off the mark at least.

I reckon, it feels like a lot of people have decided John McGreal has run his course now - it's been there for the past year or so but it seems to have built up significantly in the past week or two. If we concede first I'd expect the booing to start.

He better be good, one of my sons has his name on the back of his shirt! Obviously he missed pre-season but what I have seen in the last two games he has been impressive: quick; terrier like: and knows where the goal is.

He is good. I would liken him to Danny Rose of Mansfield. Gets in defenders faces and is a good finisher especially inside the box. Will get 10-15 goals if he plays and gets the right service.

My favourite away trip and I have to miss it. Leyton Orient away. Decent home bar, quite a decent record and we are playing decent stuff. If only I had a decent job!

Tuesday was the first time this season we have had more than 20 shots in a game. If we are going to win we need to get more of these shots on target and we need to stop conceding so many chances. It won't happen but I'm hopeful for a decent result.

If you've got a quick winger you will give Doherty problems. Powell gave him nightmares on Tuesday.

I like him. Good little player. Doesn’t stop running, good movement and the ball sticks to him up front. Holds it up far better than 6ft 3 Ryan Taylor. I’ve also been impressed by Byron Moore.

To be fair to you guys though without our dodgy pen straight after half time on Tuesday you’d have won easily but it seemed to change your game plan and you settled for what you’d got instead. And up until Green’s great strike you were still really comfortable at 2-1, I definitely didn’t see an equaliser coming as we were just huffing and puffing but your defence looked really solid. Ironically our equaliser came about 10 seconds after you decided to completely shut up shop and bring on that giant defender in place of your big forward.

Coming so early in the half doesn't help of course, and hands all of the impetus to you - but that seems to be the case in most second halves when we're ahead at the break so I would have expected us to go that way regardless of the penalty to be fair!

Walsall at home for us. Should be looking to pick up the 3 points.

Else it'll be no win in 3 (including 2 home games) and everything will have slowed a touch.

I was going to hit the like button for this but although it's true I don't like it.

Nothing against Doherty. He is probably lovely to his mum. He takes a decent free kick and corner but he isn't a league two standard footballer. Trouble is he is the only left back at the club.

Young is available after his red card. Him at right back, Sesay at left back is how we started. Got to be worth another shot.

Have just seen this rather interesting infographic showing average posts per thread on that Twitter that all the boring stats people love:

Make of that what you will, but it clearly proves that one thread is better than loads of little ones.

Four single match threads where created for the midweek games, while there was also an all-in-one match thread. The latter thread, covering 16 sides, got 261 replies which means an average of 16.31 per side. The four separate threads* saw a total of 156 replies. That's an average of 19.50 p/s.

19.50 > 16.31
