Still a month off yet, but this thread title should serve as a handy reminder.

Any preferences on dates?
Any games you look out for.

A home game at the beginning or end of the season would be nice. We never seem to get them; 2017/18 saw us start and end the season at Brunton Park for the first time in three years we'd had either match at home, but then 2018/19 we went back to out usual practice of both starting and ending away from home.

Not Salford on the opening day. As much as it would be great to burst their bubble by beating them, that won't happen. We have a pretty poor record on the opening day and a proud history of welcoming teams to the division with a donation of three points, so cross out Orient or any of the relegated sides too.

Someone crap(per than us) on the opening day would be pleasant, not sure who that might be though. Won't be Morecambe as they're our EFL assigned local rival and therefore our first game against them will be around Christmas. Macclesfield perhaps, or pending the summer, whoever has a total meltdown.

As much as I hate to admit it, Salford will be one of the fixtures I look for. Not because I think it will be a compelling fixture though, mainly because I'll want to know at which point in the season we'll be humiliated on live TV, and also identify an opportunity to outnumber the home fans (something we need to try and do, if we can outnumber Morecambe then we should be able to outnumber Salford if it isn't on a bank holiday or midweek).

If they miss out on promotion then I'll look out for Tranmere too. I lived in Liverpool for 10 years, have plenty of friends down there, and a friend only just moved to New Brighton so we're already talking about visiting him. I know the city like the back of my hand, know which places I like to drop in on while I'm down there (Bluecoat centre, Egg cafe, Ship & Mitre) and so it's always my favourite away day. Wasn't able to go this season though and couldn't go last time they were in the division because it was a Tuesday night. I shall be eyeing up a visit there.

I'm excited by the thought of Stevenage away boxing day, maybe even a huge tie against Macclesfield or Crawley opening day.

Can't wait!

Your luck is out, Boxing Day usually throws up the local clubs. Just imagine Oldham at home on Boxing Day - cannae wait!

Or Salford, we once played Man Utd on boxing day, when most of their owners played may as well.

Or us.

In recent seasons we've faced Morecambe, Accrington, Hartlepool, Crewe, York and Oldham on Boxing day or Jan 2nd. So Bradford are well within the 'might face Carlisle' circle, as indeed are Salford.

That would be one of the more attractive fixtures due to distance, we had Sunderland this season and 46,000 were there going to be a bit of a come down!

Anyone but Salford first game as that would be an unbearable circus with the media masturbating over them.

We've not lost on the opening day of the league season since 2003 a record currently I believe so would like to keep that going if we can.

I'd actually take Salford away. With bury and dale not on the cards this year it's our derby, and you can guarantee we will have more there than they will. We will easily take 2500 -3000 if they can find space for us. It's a stone's throw, new ground and new season.
It would be nice to beat them as well given the scholes link

We look forward to our visit to Vale Park in the first week of August then.

Something will need sorting cos you can guarantee we will turn up in numbers. It's not unheard of for this to happen. We have had issues at both bury and dale in the past and Salford is a much smaller ground, and one we have never visited before either.
What's the capacity for away fans? We surely won't be the only team they have issues with, can see bradford having similar problems.

Hope for a local away trip, but we generally seem to start our season’s at home.

Morecambe or Mansfield away, please.

Crawley at home it is, then.

Relatively local mid week and bank holiday games would be the preference throughout the season.
As long as the computer is programmed that although having 'North' in our title, it doesn't tally with our location!

I assume that the games between us and Carlisle will be a dark, damp and windy November evening and a frosty Tuesday evening. I hope the hardy souls that travel get a free pasty and a pint paid for by the EFL.

Nottinghamshire police will make our match at the Mill 12am on the sabbath in all likelihood.

The only one I'm looking forward to, is Forest Green Rovers away as its my only new ground next season. Watched the O's play everyone else many, many times down the years and been to certain grounds god knows how many times.

Listing how many times I've been to each ground in this league, which about 99% accurate I'd day, gonna include both Tranmere and Newport:

Carlisle - 11
Oldham - 11
Colchester - 11 (Inc One visit to Layer Road)
Tranmere - 10
Northampton - 9 (Inc one visit to see v Coventry)
Swindon - 8
Walsall - 8
Stevenage - 7
Crewe - 7
Scunthorpe - 7
Cheltenham - 6
Exeter City - 5
Crawley - 5
Bradford - 4
Plymouth - 4
Mansfield - 4
Port Vale - 4
Grimsby - 3
Macclesfield - 3
Cambridge - 3
Newport - 2
Morecambe - 1
Salford City - 1
Fores Green Rovers - 0

This also includes friendlies, missed a League Cup game away at Colchester in August 2009 - Otherwise Colchester would be my most visited.

Can't wait to to go back to these places after 2 years visiting estranged towns, such as Guiseley, Gateshead and Boreham Wood..............

We can’t wait to have you back at Sixfields too, great to have at least one proper club making a return to the football league next season. Equally can’t wait to get back down to Brisbane Road, living in South East London it will be my one effective “home game” for the year!

Don't quote me on it. Ground capacity just over 5000.
200 away seats and 800 terrace.
Like I say don't take that as gospel

I look out for Crewe despite what other Vale fans say.
Also keep fingers crossed that the likes of Bradford, Mansfield, Orient, Plymouth and hopefully Tranmere are all Saturday games.
Stick Crawley and Stevenage away on a Tuesday because makes no odds as our support be shit on a Saturday anyway.

And unfortunately I will be looking out for The Class of 92 game.
If it's an international weekend we can look forward to Sky tv money
