DSL needs to serve a one match suspension for this act of wickedness.
I’d kidnap him and take him to Kingfield, tie him up to the seat next to where Sparrow sits, and spray paint ‘i love Woking’ with a big heart sign painted round and see how the rumour mongering weasel likes it.

Andy Monkhouse? (Pools job).

Googled him, and he appears to be a qualified coach, working with Rovrum's youth teams/player-coaching at Ossett. Spent 7 years playing at Hartlepool, so presumably likes the place. Also (per Wikipedia) has previous with Alfreton, so thought I'd get in ahead of DSL in mentioning him. And together with John Doolan shares the distinction of being one of the last players I've seen sent off for fighting - a proper scrap with none of this forehead nonsense... :)

Class player Monky, remember that Rochdale game, we must’ve brought about 2,000 fans that day, a lot in fancy dress, Monky and Doolan literally kicked fuck out of each other.

The other player sent off that day Richie Barker has been linked though.

Couple of non league accounts on Twatter reporting that Pools are set to appoint Dave Challinor and Fylde are after Jim Bentley from Morecambe.

I’m not Soup but I’d be whelmed by his appointment I think, did very well at Fylde with a big backing, the sort he won’t get at Pools and it’s also a pretty big step up in terms of clubs, not wanting to sound shitey but it’s true, there’s big expectations at Pools and managers that aren’t delivering get hounded out pretty quickly.

I'd have him. Yeah our budget isn't theirs but it's this sort of job that would tell us if Challinor can hack it without a massive budget. So if I was DC, I'd be applying for it.

All Bentley's ever done is just about kept Morecambe up - the amount of times I've seen fans seriously calling for him to be sacked tells me he wasn't popular there. On the tinpot thread, wasn't the director there voting on a tweet that said he should be sacked if they don't improve soon?

Of course Fylde will climb the table and he'll get the credit, but any new manager would be able to improve them.

Considering how low the budget is at Morecambe he has done very well to consistently keep them up.

Bentley and Fylde don't really seem a good match.

He'll have had his hands tied at Morecambe for obvious reasons but I can't imagine his way of playing is in keeping with how Fylde have been in recent years.

Great move for Bentley, mind. There seems to have been discontent against him at Morecambe for a couple of years at least (not quite sure what them people were expecting from him) and his budget, although perhaps less in monetary terms at Fylde, will obviously be much bigger relative to the league they're in.

"We are not a Wrexham, a Stockport or a Chesterfield with their long history and huge fan base, but more a Forest Green or a Crawley – and it is important for all concerned with the club that we understand and embrace that.”

Well at least he's honest.

Interesting appointment. Doesn't seem a perfect fit but he probably deserves a chance at a club with a bit of a budget.

Just been on the Sutton site (prior to our match with them on Saturday), surely their manager Gray must be high up on the "next" list and with Barrow (Away), Torquay (Away) and Bromley (Home) as the next 3 scheduled matches he may well be gone in November?

If only. However we’re not a sacking club, and Gray seems to be over confident in his own abilities to do the honourable thing

Good appointment. Good guy and, despite what people might say, deserves more credit for the job he did at Fylde. It wasn't all about the cash.
