Absolutely dreadful performance by Gloucester on Saturday. Slough should have hammered us. First half was one of the worst I've seen.

Concord unbeaten at the moment still, playing Dartford tomorrow I think.

Yes, they were very fortunate to win at our place on Saturday! Rather unsavoury cheating and time-wasting particularly from Sam Beasant who seemed to develop cramp to order! We completely dominated the second half and should have taken at least 1 point, possibly 3. In the two games we've lost our opponents have only managed a combined 4 shots on target and they've scored from 3 of those!

We actually look very comfortable at this level and I'm confident we'll finish closer to the top than the bottom. We've played some lovely football so far and I'm really looking forward to this campaign! Both our left sided defenders are injured and we really need one of them back; we're also missing Micheal Chambers, our impressive centre back.

BBC Devon have decided in their ultimate wisdom to drop us from their live commentaries this coming season (bastards!).... however the club itself is in the process of setting up its own live broadcasts.....

Question: how many clubs in National South provide commentaries for their home games?

We now have live commentary for all our games and TV highlights too. Many thanks to Tom Bale for the excellent work he does with this!

Wealdstone 1-0 Woking (Att: 1,323)

Big, big win for the Stones last night. The game was one of two halves with the visitors well on top in the first half and the Stones having wave after wave of attacks in the second half. The referee had missed a stonewall penalty on Matt Lench just minutes before awarding a sceptical penalty to ourselves after Dave Pratt was felled in the box (I don't think it was a penalty). Lench coolly tucked it away and then we saw out the game quite comfortably.

On the Martin Tyler stuff, that's clearly being blown way out of proportion, nobody jumped the fence to punch him for example, I'd hedge bets that he may have got a shove in the back, possibly in the aftermath of celebrations?

Really we should be on 10 points but that's life.

Great support from Woking last night by the way - I'd have guessed around 350, easily the biggest league following we've seen since being in the Conny Sarf.

We were hanging on the whole of the 2nd half - could always see a Wealdstone goal coming. Didn’t look like a pen on the highlights although we did get a ridiculously soft one vs Thurrock on the opening day so I guess it evens itself out.

Still - ‘shoving’ a 72 year old assistant manager is pretty poor, doesn’t matter if he jumped on the pitch or not.

Another win for Concord. 4 unbeaten, think they and Billericay straddle at the top?

Another woeful performance from the gulls last night. Every game the opposition has passed us off the pitch and we haven't closed them down. Can see slough beating us too.

And another abysmal performance from us. We're always crap at Bath and last night was no different but this team just isn't good enough right now. Midfield is very poor. Got zero points Thurrock on Saturday, got to win that.

Gary Owers is a one trick pony, play 3-5-2/5-3-2 defend all game and try get a win smash and grab style.

As much as it hates me to say it, Billericay are the team to beat this year, made the step up comfortably so far and I for one, would bite your arm off to have a striker like Jake Robinson back at Torquay.

I was at Lands End on Tuesday with my Grimsby top on and I got given the recent history of Dulwich Hamlet FC by some guy I didn't know, which was nice. :bg:

Dartford 0-3 Wealdstone (Att: 984)

I don't care if Dartford have strikers who can't score (come on forward Kudos Oyenuga and Delano Sam-Yorke) but we were absolute mustard today/yesterday, completely bossed the game like we have done for most of the 4 games prior and got our just deserts. Jeff Monakana's goal to put us 3 up early in the second half is well worth watching on any highlights channel, it was a simply fantastic strike. We really should have buried Dartford by more which says a lot about this Stones side, keep that midfield engine fit and we are going places!

1-0 win over East Thurrock for us. We scored, then they went down to 10...then finished with 9. In the end it became a training session with just City keeping possession rather than going for more goals. Konchesky was the first one sent off and he's since quit the club this morning. East Thurrock bottom with zero points, think they have huge problems there!

2 penalties and a goal from a corner, bit concerning for Dartford that they've yet to score from open play. Torquay also can't score either with many Gulls fans wanting Gary Owers out.

Strong rumours doing the rounds this evening that Harry Wheeler has been sacked as Billericay manager after their first defeat of the season (2-0 at Chippenham). I'll believe it when I see it from the club however.

As for us... 2 points dropped imo against a well drilled Concord team. They did overrun us in the first half hour and we couldn't get to grips with their high press but after that it was all us. Oxford City away tomorrow and time to put to bed this awful record on 3G/4G.

Echo News (which covers South Essex) reports that Wheeler was sacked by text before the conclusion of the Chippenham match. If true, straight to the tinpot thread that goes.

Billericay's assistant manager/coach doesn't even seem to know what's going on with the manager

It's sort of funny but a lunatic with £millions is playing fantasy football with a real club in proper leagues, he's totally disfiguring it, he's stopped my club from winning it's first Isthmian League championship for almost 70 years through his financial doping (which I'm very sore about even though we still went up in the play-offs) and at some point you just know it will end in tears, possibly with a mid-season implosion that distorts the whole promotion/relegation issue as they complete their fixtures with a team of amateurs or fold completely and have their results expunged.

A rather interesting post from the conference forum

''Obviously Wheeler being a former St Albans coach / manager etc and still living there a few people within our club know him

Allegedly Tamplin sacked him whilst coked off his head on Saturday and tried to apologise on Sunday but Wheeler has told him where to go

Wheeler also very kindly called our club and filled us in with their tactics etc for today, which worked a treat until we went down to 10 men

Had quite a long chat with a 'ricky fan at half time (one of the ones that have been for years so not a JCL) and quite a few people think Tampin is in rehab as nobody has seen him for ages (although that would cast some doubts on the first part of my post unless he was relapsing on Saturday)''

A rather interesting post on the conference forum about the subject

I give it 12 hours before your post is deleted. Apart from anything else, they don't like links to rival forums. Ho Hum. I'd best pop in and check that there's nothing there that I as chief mod could get sued for.

EDIT - my post edited to reflect Raymondo316's edit.

Interesting rumours on whom Bill N DIcky want to replace Wheeler, our very own Bobby Wilkinson is in the frame, based, apparently, on our demolishing of them in last season’s trophy. Wilkinson lives in Reading.

City 0 Torquay 0. Decent periods of possession and chances for either side but think we shaded it. Shots from Joe Parker and Noah Smerdon were unfortunate not to go in. On another day we would have won that. Special mention for Jamie Edge. Been critical of him but he ran the show today, great passing and intelligent interlinking of play.

Torquay offered very little and for me look bang on for a very mundane nothing season in mid-table. Some antics at the end from the Torquay youth mob throwing flares/firecrackers onto the pitch and then the manager getting something (apparently coffee) chucked over him. They then went for his wife believe it or not. Evesham stewarding very poor and police arrived far too late.
