We had Makoma for a couple of games earlier this season. He was one of the worst players I've ever seen.
he played quite well for us - would have like to have kept him last summer - instead he left and we got a fee for him (£25,000 i think i read somewhere) - seams to have gone backwards since though

Bradbury > Eastbourne. Good appointment. We edge closer towards Hockaday being appointed.

He led Havant out of National South twice and he led them back into it twice.

I see Sammy Moore has been unveiled as the new Hemel Hempstead manager

On the face of it, very astute by Dave Boggins. However if you want some drama, I'd recommend giving the thread on the Nomads forum a read and then seeing what the Concord chairman has tweeted this afternoon.

Getting into the spirit of things, where can we get a decent away allocation and is best for a drink out of these two? They have my full support.

Was gutted that Wealdstone lost, went there a few times while I was at uni down in London and always struck me as a very sound bunch.

Scratch that, all Welling if Thierry Audel is there. Lovely bloke.

I had another night out in Nottingham planned too, boo-urns. Weren't you at that infamous Thursday night game vs. Concord where the Cowley brothers completely lost their rag?

Has been confirmed at the fans forum tonight that we will remain full time next season, and train exactly as we have done this season.

Shahid (our chairman) mentioned the average budget is 250k in this league and another of our board members said our budget would be quite a bit higher than that. So sounds like the board's intention is for this to be a very brief spell in this league. All they need to do now is appoint the right manager. If it was me i'd take McMahon.

McMahon is a good shout. Knows that league but also experience of managing full time.

He played one game on loan for us but left after saying he was too good to be playing for the likes of Torquay!

We’ve sold over 4,000 tickets for the final on Sunday, with only 800 remaining in the home section. Looking forward to Welling bringing 200 of their 1000+ allocation.

Definitely agree with that. We were very fortunate to secure Gary Johnson after Gary Owers made a pigs ear with the squad he had. If we'd stuck with Owers we'd be visiting The Rec and, heaven forbid, The Gallagher, next season... or even Truro the way we were playing. Staying full-time in NLS is a must. Time and time again last season you could see the part-time opposition tiring near the end of games. Fitness is a key element to getting out of this league, and as mentioned, a decent manager will certainly help.

Hurry up back though, I miss the trek through the hilly forest!

For me, I'd go for McMahon or Saunders - I don't think there are many else out there worth considering. Both want the job too I believe.

Some other names rumoured are scary.. Hockaday.... King.... he actually nearly got the job when GW was appointed and our deadline for applicants is Monday which is after the NLS final...

You’ll probably have a higher attendance than the National League playoff at Wembley.

Wealdstone manager gone

Heard a rumbling at lunchtime today that Bobby Wilkinson was gone/going. Definite Marmite character but I wish him well wherever he goes - FA Trophy semi final and a play-off semi final in two years looks good on the CV so he won't have any trouble finding a new gig.

Some of the replacement options I've already heard supporters touting beggar belief - a current player who was last seen wearing an opposition's backpack being probably the funniest/stupidest suggestion.

Realistically I'd like Brad Quinton - played good, attractive football with Braintree and got them up on a shoestring.

Edit: To the supporters of the next club BW manages, just expect to hear 110% ad nauseum.

Do you think both have applied?

Again, it's been rumoured but clearly nothing concrete. Personally I think they'll go with Daryl McMahon or Jay Saunders. One thing is for sure however, he'd certainly have the budget there that he wanted here.

Think Welling have sold over 400 tickets already and with Charlton/Millwall not playing, they will surpass what we brought for the semi. Though had we reached the final, we would have taken 800-1,000 i suspect.

Last season it was 150%, so disappointed we only put 110% in this year. Marmite for sure, but he did have our biggest two budgets to play with during his tenure. so a play off position was an absolute must. The failure to have a functioning forward though is a very big debit in bis column.

That said, as you say, a semi-final in the FAT and play-offs isn't a bad return.

BTW 100% no to Brennan/Maynard or Cox. What about the duo from Slough if we could entice them?

That is true, he'll argue that if Bradley Bubb was fit for the season then we would have had a consistent goalscorer but who knows...

I'm not against Dean Brennan coming in but it's not an appointment that would have me thinking we've gone bold and ambitious either, Hemel fans may dislike him but ironically he does have a track record of bringing in strikers who consistently score goals, his problem has been the constant overhaul of players. One for Paddy to weigh on since he was most recently at K's...

Jon Underwood and Neil Baker won't come here, they've got stability at Slough and they're at a club who are back on the up. Lee Allinson is a good shout that was touted on Stonesnet.

Yeah the BW to us rumours were floating about before the season even ended.

I don't trust our chairman to make the right decision though, he did appoint Barry Smith and did want Steve King over the return of GW.

Couple managers out there that have won promotion from this league in JS & DM.... makes too much sense.

Saunders is good at this level but at the level above he really struggles recruitment wise unless you have a load of money.
