Leamington continued with their good start to the season despite having to settle for a draw in the last minute against Guiseley. Leamington may have just about edged it but a draw could also be seen as a fair result on the day. Scrappy game, not the best to witness. Last August, Leam only picked up 3 points (opening day) and took a battering the rest of the month, so big improvement to their opening weeks this season with 8 on the board currently.

The state of the pitch wasn't condusive to either team playing anything like they might have wanted. So dry, sandy, long grass and very uneven surface. The ball bobbled around so much it was practically impossible to dribble or achieve accurate passes. Maybe it's a home choice to have it that way, I don't know.
One thing is certain - both keepers had absolute mares! Three of the four goals down to keeper errors.

Any feelers then on who may take York job???

Still think a bigger club should take a punt on Flanagan in regards budget to achievement he has done more than most in this league, two promotions then 3 seasons here with smallest budget, but he would need a couple of seasons and not sure clubs will give him that time.

May go with Jansen I suppose

Any manager that is currently doing semi successful with their club would be mental to leave and go to York, is it 4 managers in 2 seasons now?

Absolute basket case club.

Bradford (Park Avenue) 1-1 Stockport County.

Said before the game i'd take a draw but a missed a penalty and to concede in the 88th minute is was disappointing. Got to be seen as 2 points dropped.

We've got a tough run of game coming up. 8 points out of 5 games is not terrible but could do better.

Onto Alfreton at home on Saturday. Get the (dis)pleasure of watching another Billy Heath hoofball team again.

I know what you saying and now see what Halifax fans had to put up with. We just have mixed it up enough for my liking. Its Plan A to Denton and not much else. That said Heath`s is effective at this level

No idea. I can see them going left field.

Hyde United assistant David McGurk is mentioned on the betting, Even Nicky Law is 25/1!

Whenever you play Ashton United you'll have a field day. Their cb's couldn't have been much bigger than 6ft. Denton won't even have to jump.

Thanks for the video. I've seen more of Leamington games than my own team this season. They look to be improving. Bad mistake by Tony B, but Stenson looks a real find.

With winter postponements, cup and trophy runs on top of Chester's current issues they could have a major fixture backlog.

Game off v Chester on BHM.

It's a shame that, but it's all down to the Football Conference and the SAG. There's also the delay with the Insurance paying out. I'll be looking forward to the Telford game on Saturday. It'll be the last game I'll see for at least 2 weeks, possibly longer.

‘Absolute Madness’, oh come on, stop being so dramatic.

Three weeks into the season, and you've called off three (four rearranged) home games.

Never seen anything like it if i'm being honest. I'm glad any teams, even if they are given the option, are not allowing for any fixture reversal. Should have some contingency in place surely.

I'll start to get concerned if it's not fixed by the 8th, which it is certainly expected to be. If so we carry on as normal and gradually catch up the three games probably quite quickly.

The reaction of daft panic just a week or two in to the season and weird conspiracy theories have been the most embarrassing things to this. It's annoying, not denying that but It’s flood damage, it has to be fixed and we’re not going to make contingency plans of playing somewhere else for a couple of games in August, let’s be honest, we have plenty of time on our hands.

I think the timing is down to Gray's contract, which presumably would have been up in a few weeks when he would have been at the club for a year. It seems that the board have told Gray that the contract would not be renewed, and he's left rather than see it out. Probably a good move for everyone as we are a basket case, and Gray never looked like being the man to turn that around.

Absolutely spot on regarding Gray not turning the club around, it was just a matter of time before he was eventually gunna receive his marching orders. At least its in August and not say for instance at the back end of the year. Interesting that Brian Atkinson left a week or two before to join West Auckland's management team. They've always been best of mates him and Gray.

Cameron Belford has left us today, have to feel sorry for him as he did nothing wrong, keeping 2 clean sheets. We have urwin though, who was always going to be first choice. Wes Fletcher has also gone to Lancaster on loan.

Seems as if even taking a two week break still isn't enough time for the Welsh FA to give Deane Smalley international clearance to play for us. Hasn't even played in Wales for two years either which is the weirdest thing about it.

In to a FOURTH week waiting for international clearance between England & Wales!!!!

They're a joke. We waited about 4 weeks for a player we just signed. it took less time for a players clearance to come through from South Africa. A couple of seasons back we signed a player from Wales at the start of July, his clearance came through in September.

A couple of years ago we tried to sign a player from Wrexham (I think) and had the same problem. After three or four months of waiting we just gave up. Knowing our luck whoever it was will probably turn out to be the next Jamie Vardy.

As annoying as it is for clubs and fans, given the lack of opportunities to play at Step 5/6 levels in Wales (i.e. Wrexham), the FAW/FA dragging its feet over clearances can potentially have pretty devastating affects on a players career. I'm surprised no-ones ever brought a claim for restriction of trade.

Can we make it a second consecutive away day success at a "brotherhood" member tomorrow following our 2-1 win at York? I hear Frank Mulhern has picked up a knock and Nyal Bell will be leading the line?

Never won at Edgeley Park and scored on only one of our previous 5 visits. I would be delighted with a point which would represent a solid enough start given our fixtures.

Do County fans think defeat would put some pressure on Gannon?

Smalley’s currently on a pay as you play deal for us looking to impress, including tomorrow he’s lost out on four games but it should have been seven with the postponed games. It’s his livelihood and absolutely scandalous IMO.

I don't think we'll win this one. We always seem to struggle against big, well-drilled direct sides at home, which I imagine Alfreton under Heath are. We've still only put in one convincing performance this season (first game against FCUM), although BPA last Saturday was an improvement. I'll go for a draw.

Dont know if Gannon would be under pressure if we lose. I'm not sure there were that many people who seriously thought we'd be title challengers, so if upper play offs is the target it's still a bit early to be panicking. A couple of people on our messageboard will go full drama queen, but that's pretty unrepresentative of the fan base.

Wasn't it Kayden Jackson? I seem to remember Mills wanted to loan him out and he was with you training for a bit but the move never materialised.

Since leaving us he went to Barnsley, Grimsby on loan then Accrington when he scored 16 goals in league 2. He's currently with Ipswich in the Championship.

So yeah he's pretty good.

Very good win away at Blyth today, referee was abysmal, has 2 goals chalked off for offside, one of which our player was behind the ball and 2 players. Missed a clear stamp on carver and let their players referee the game. We lasted 527 minutes without conceding which is a brilliant achievement. Next up Curzon who are somewhat of a bogey side.

I'll see your ref and raise you ours!
Booked the Nuneaton no. 2 in both halves but didn't show the red, missed so many niggly, dirty off the ball incidents from Nuneaton as well as two blatant fouls in their penalty area, one right in front of the assistant who said and did nothing all game.

After we eventually scored the winner a Nuneaton center back head butted one of his own players and was eventually sent off.

What an awful club Nuneaton have become.
