See you’ve a trip to York in pre season can give you a tip how to out of that division in a season?
Enjoy your trip to non league York, will be a bit different from most of your trips.
We have a railway station.
Pubs on way to ground.
People actually live in the city.
Plus you get to go to York races after match probably about 30,000 at races, that is more than population of most clubs you will be playing.

Notts are back in court tomorrow facing anything between 250k and 800k petitions of winding up by the HMRC.

National tabloid gets all over it and makes a few things up which our local paper gets wind of and throws it around Nottingham. Que hissy fits from all!

Big week either way for Notts I think.

In classic Notts fashion, it appears that the guy negotiating the takeover on behalf of the South Africans has suddenly fallen seriously ill.

We are an endless supply of random chaos, never change Notts.

Our off-field history in the past twenty years would have been too outlandish for Dream Team.

I'm setting this up now, with hopefully, mods approval.
Us Notts like to talk and unfortunately some other teams fans also like to join in.

I think, to avoid the main forum getting messy we should have our own?
You already have your own forum. Use it. :bdick:

We/Most do, but this forum/thread is, Id like to say, civilized.
As soon as the season starts (or even preseason) it could get very messy.
Besides you don't need to look in it unless you want to talk about Notts!

Your crisis is rather tame compared to some of the shit most of our clubs have been through - this thread is kind of sweet.

Well we got an extension from the court to 10 July so that's one immediate problem fended off. Now we just have to convince the NL's AGM that we'll be good to go in August. :woot:

It’s not anything to do with the club I support, although my own club was siphoned for millions and padlocked out our own ground, and nearly renamed after the fictional Harchester United so I think I know about crisis and to be fair Notts County themselves have had a pretty good go at it if you knew more on the matter.

Notts have rarely had spectacular problems (with the exception of the six months of Munto). It's more that when clubs like Blackpool/Leyton Orient etc. resolve their issues they tend to settle down. At Notts it's been one thing after another off the field nearly continually for two decades.

Calm down, we've all had our fair share of dodgy owners and brushes with the tax man.

Could not be calmer, it’s our local rivals with the crisis not my own club lol.

It's a strange one, one I really don't get.

A few weeks ago we got a statement from the lawyers of the new owners said the deal was almost complete and they wanted it to be pushed through ASAP.
Now Pritchard is ill everything is on hold?!? Surely its passed the point in which he needs to be involved apart from getting his pay packet out of it.
Now we are given a 4 week extension by the courts despite us wanting only 2. Yes I get that the court don't want to come back in 2 weeks if it means extending again.

As far as I am aware and I have commented this on mad it is the land around the ground rather than the club/stadium that's the problem. I guess their plans of a hotel on the back of the Kop and the cattle market area is what they want approval on. I heard they want a training ground next to the Sirrel stand.

Very frustrating and I imagine even at this early stage we can write off next season. Players back in training in just over 3 weeks and no training pitch.

Well the SA's are flying in Monday in an attempt to push the deal through quicker.

And they say and increased budget from last season for players. Let's hope this time we don't end up with a squad of 30+

What a drawn out debacle. Three weeks from pre season training and we're hard pushed to put out any eleven at all.
Can Ardley actually offer any contracts to anyone or is he on an extended break as there's nothing he can do, presuming our near mythical new owners want him to stay in charge.
Absolutely refuse to buy a season ticket til Hardy is out the building and I know the money isn't going to either him or the administrator.

On paper you should be able to comfortably compete with last seasons budget never mind increasing it! What was it last season, £3m? You don't need a £3m+ budget to get out of here.

With the size of the squad that was probably just the wages too, never mind the transfer fees paid out!

County should be skimming a £1m off the budget, it’s still going to be the biggest in the division I imagine?

Just in case there was any risk of the takeover quietly wrapping up, one of the prospective buyers (who thankfully have never seemed to be the front runners) are being advised by a convicted fraudster. There's always something else at this club.

Notts County are aware of recent press reports regarding the involvement of Alex May in a prospective takeover of the club. The club will be speaking to the group about the involvement of Mr May, who has been acting as their advisor only, to establish their plans moving forward.

That's...not a particularly reassuring statement. Surely the response to finding out that a bidder is being advised by someone who defrauded pensioners is to immediately cease talks?
