Picture from 1981 with Bayern Stars Karl Heinz Rummenigge (background), Paul Breitner and the "Kaiser" himself, Franz Beckenbauer.
Who can spot the "unusual" here? ;)

Right and the Kaiser played for the HSV ;)

One of the funniest incidents in the traditional Derby between Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund was in 1969: Schalke's Friedel Rausch was bitten in the Arse by a German Shepherd :D
Schalke went 1-0 in front and some fans entered the field and the Police dog went wild and bite the Schalke player.
btw: The match ended 1-1 and Schalke didn't protest against the match. They are no Italians,.;)

The last time we were at a World Cup, Jim Leighton, yes Jim Leighton was our keeper. Why has he greased his eyebrows here!?! Also note the wristbands with his name on them so he knows who he is.

Another pic of him in action here again with the eyebrows, and one of those funky 90's keeper tops. :D

Some myths about the disappearing of the Viktoria (Victoria) between 1944 and 1990.

I've searched a bit and found these pics from Rapid Wien (Vienna) whose German Championship in 1941 is still special because it's the only German championship of an Austrian team (ok, Austria was at that time in the Greater German Empire but nonetheless)

Vienna's star striker Franz "Bimbo" Binder with Fans in Vienna 1940 ( because it was war he's wearing a Uniform). The young guy in the middle is the later well known coach Ernst Happel (won the European Cup in 1983 with the HSV)

2. German Championship Final 1941 in Berlin: Rapid Wien vs Schalke 04 4-3. Both teams with "Hitler-Gruss". Before the Bundesliga 1963 the German Championship was played in regional rounds and with a Final at the end

3. Decisive Goal from Franz Binder:

4. Group photo with Victoria:

The title says: "Rapid Wien Grossdeutscher Kriegs Fussball-Meister 1940/41 (Rapid Vienna, Greater German War Football Champion 1940/41)

Cheers Leo, here's a really old football related picture...

Liverpool-1990-League-Winners.jpg
Great picture. I remember this quality team. Beardsley one of my fav players of all time. Rush, fantastic centre forward, Barnes was excellent. Couple I had forgotten about are Glen Hysen and Ronny Rosenthal. The thing that springs to mind about Ronny is his open goal miss - cant remember who it was against though. Is that Jan Molby behind Burrows? Blast from the past.

Gascgoine looks cool, Möller looks like an effeminate matador.

tbh both look like the assholes they were (imo) . Couldn't stand both of them but I remember this penalty shootout well enough and had to laugh out loud after Möller's "intimidation" of Gascoigne's celebration before (and celebrated of course that we won :D )

Good one right, but surely not the best one ever taken because nearly everybody has other ones he rates higher.

Tea at Half-time in the 20's:

2 of Hamburg's greatest footballers in the first 3 decades of the 20th century:
on the left, Adolf Jäger from Altona 93 (their stadium bears now his name) and on the right HSV striker Otto "Tull" Harder whose 387 goals for the HSV in competition matches are second behind Uwe Seeler. He even was Captain of the German National-team.
But his legacy at the HSV is forever tarnished because in 1932 he became member of the SS and later Waffen-SS and he was a guard in concentration camps. In 1947 he was convicted as a war-criminal and had to serve 15 years in prison (later reduced to 10 years)
