I actually can see us beating Tranmere, but losing to Gateshead. They are just the sort of team we struggle to beat.

Tranmere (H) - WIN
Chester (H) - WIN
Borehamwood (A) - DRAW
Southport (A) - WIN
Gateshead (H) - DRAW/LOSE

11/10 from 15 would do for me.

Sat 03/09 v VCD Athletic (a), FA Cup 1st Qual
Sat 10/09 v Leiston (a)
Sat 27/09 v Worthing (h)
Mon 19/09 v Bognor Regis Town (h)
Sat 24/09 v Canvey Island (a)
Tue 27/09 v Wingate & Finchley (a)

Reckon we'd get at least 9 points from this run of games. FA Cup progression is a must against a team from the league below us & to help build confidence going in to the game against currently top of the league surprise package Leiston who are on a 100% record after 6 games so far. I think we'll edge past the home games against Worthing & Bognor with 3 points from each & probably take 3 points back from our trip to struggling Wingate.

Have to try and make the most of this month with some real big hitters to come in October. Could be key.

5 points from 30. Should beat Southport then a tough 4 games

It is a real tough month, and even Southport could be tough and any positive result will be determined by team selection!
I think if Miller returns we may fare better than you suggest. If he comes back into the middle, and yes as you pointed out he did well on the right Monday, but do we really want him spending half of the game tracking back the opposition full backs or wingers?
We need him up front doing what he does so well, and lets also not forget he played ten games or so at the start of last season out wide and only scored once and CK took him off every game with twenty to play!
Moore surely has to come in now, though rumours in the bar after the game suggest managment don't think he is as fit as they would like him to...heard any of those?
But with his league experience, he surely must be a more viable alternative even at 85/90% fit than the gaffers son who after a decent start to be fair, has played really poorly these past few games and I don't see how he can start in front of Moore, do you?

So on the assumption both happen,

Southport W
FGR D
Dagenham D
York W
Lincoln D

If the assumption is wrong
Southport D
FGR L
Dagenham L
York D
Lincoln L

Seems a pretty fair assessment of our chances - I think if Moore/Miller both play regular then I'd agree with your selections, although I don't think we'll beat York.

If not it could be a long, tough month. Kinnear Jr is the worst player in the league by miles, offers absolutely nothing apart from a presence to abuse the referee and attempt to cheat his way into a game that is above his level.

I wouldn't want to see Miller on the right either but I can't see Lafayette being dropped and I would want to see him on the right even less.

Spoke with Moore after the game and he seems to feel he's ready to play and he doesn't seem happy about not playing, but if he's not 100% fit then at least it's a bit of justification for not picking him.

If we play this side then we'll be OK:

Arnold
Magri, Orlu, Parkinson, Grimes, Thomas
Moore, Stevenson
Modeste, Miller, Moses

Harsh to leave out Lafayette but he's not good enough to keep Miller out of the side, despite the amount he scores.
Orlu in midfield was a shambles on Monday and Parkinson had a 'mare. Grimes was non-existent as a captain.

There's no way we'll get more than 3 points from September if Kinnear Jr and Lafayette keep Moore and Miller out for the month. We'll also likely end up losing the players like we did when Kinnear shut out Moses Ademola before

Another mix of easy looking and slightly harder looking fixtures. It would be nice if we were still in touch with the play offs after this month.

Woking H - win
Bromley A - lose
Wrexham H - draw
Eastleigh H - draw
Guiseley A - win

8/15 points. We should do alright but I have a feeling we'll manage to come up with a poor performance or two at some point.

Be careful of Aldershot, confidence sky high and though we tanked them second half the first half they were very impressive indeed

I think we'll have a bit of a bounce after FGR stuffed us and Mark Creighton has sorted the defence out a bit, then normal service will be resumed with a battering at Eastleigh. Barrow will probably have a bit too much for us, but I reckon we'll have enough about us to take something off Aldershot and turn North Ferriby over. Finishing the month on around 11 points from 12 games will at least stop us getting cast adrift, and should be a realistic target for us.

Got the 2 away games correct but the 3 home games wrong. 9/15 and an unbeaten month isnt bad and still has us flirting with the playoffs 25% through the season which is above my expectations!

Yep, agree. If you'd have offered me unbeaten at the start of the month I'd have snapped your hand off.

Almost impossible to predict us at the minute but here goes -

Salford City (a) L LOST
Worcester City (a) W LOST
Harrogate (h) L WON
Boston (A) W LOST

FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Rd TBC (Flyde (H) WON
Kidderminster (H) L DREW

Still as inconsistent as ever and 4/15 is below par. Blew a 3-0 lead today and was robbed at Boston.

Brilliant win and thus progress in the FA Cup though which was a nice surprise.

I wish I'd bet on those last 3 matches! 5 points this month when I expected 7. Not too bad given we're still in touch with the safety mark.

Darlo (A) Lose - Can't see us winning that game WIN
Telford (A) Win - Telford not had the best of starts so hopefully we can get a win LOST
Salford (H) Draw - As much as I want us to win can't see it happening WON
Tamworth (H) Win - Not much between us but hopefully we can scrap a win WON
Alfreton (A) Win - Will probably be a goal fest judging by their results DRAW

10/15 Would do us nicely
Points were right but wrong order.

How much can change in a month... Miller and Moore in the side consistently now and we've taken 12 points from an extremely tough month. Can't complain at all, brilliant.

Not too sure on my maths from my original post, however. 5 x 3 does not equal 30

Busier month for us coming up:

Sat 3rd AFC Hornchurch - Home - FAC - ??? (declining to predict this as I really can't!)
Sat 10th Gresley - Home - Win
Sat 17th Witton Albion - Away - Lose (n.b. will be postponed if we progress in FA cup)
Tue 20th Rugby Town - Away - Lose
Sat 24th Shaw Lane - Home - Win
Tue 27th Romulus - Home - Draw

Witton and Romulus are the two teams to have 100% from the first four league games, providing tough tests. I think Rugby will be highly up for our game, more than us, and will feel they have something to prove and manage it.

All the picks this time are on gut rather than logic, and I just can't predict if we will get through in the cup or not! The first game in a long time I've actively thought "I have no idea" to.

What we actually got was:
AFC Hornchurch (H) FAC - Win!
Gresley (H) - Draw
Concord Rangers (A) FAC - Win! (n.b. Witton Albion postponed)
Kettering Town (A) local cup - Lose (n.b. Rugby Town postponed)
Shaw Lane (H) - Draw
Romulus (H) - Draw

so 3/9 in league points but a very successful month financially due to the cup! In hindsight my predictions were optimistic as Gresley were one of the best attacking teams we've seen, and we got a 3-3 draw! Shaw Lane are one of the better teams in the league and although we went 1-0 up we sat back and invited them on to us in the second half, making a draw a fair result. Romulus sounded like a fair draw as well, bad considering they've been above us in the table all season so far. Gresley remain unbeaten too.

I think we've got to put any hopes of challenging for the title on the back burner for a while, if we ever really had them, as we now sit a whopping 14 points behind leaders Spalding. We have games in hand, but 9 points from our 7 league games so far isn't enough to have the potential of catching a team who have 23 from 9!
