You've done well to have a good night out in Seaton,i've never had one yet!!
Seriously though, the seafront (apart form one building) is a lot better now & the beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness.
On days like this its beautiful.

Harrogate is too posh for football.

Yes. Yes. Yes! I like to get on their forum once in a while to tell them this. There's so little traffic on there I can usually still see my previous post on page one, no matter how long ago it was. They should stick to what they do best: cream teas and buttered SCONs, and laughably unjustified snobbery. :fl:

He might've won it big on the twopenny nudges in Seaside Sammies one night.

You are right though, a strut along the front when the weather is like this is beautiful, the sooner Longscar Hall is flattened and something else is put up in it's place the better.

Terry Collier expressed views on both Hartlepool and Harrogate. These are quoted here, for information only (if you don't know who Terry Collier is, the attached video may help:

"Moenchengladbach is the WEST Hartlepool of WEST Germany" (I don't think he meant it in a good way)
"Ah well, they're all puffs in Harrogate" (I don't think he meant that in a good way either)

Hmm, well we seem to have come through that with hardly a scratch. Just a reminder there's ANOTHER telly vision series based in our beautiful town (I know, I know but come on, we are a fantastic looking town!), making it's national premiere on Sunday...…….:bdick:

Slow work day, so I've ranked every team who's ground I've visited in the last 5 years (so excluding Notts County, Yeovil and Chorley) based on factors that I believe to be important and can comment on (Ease by public transport, niceness of town/city, ground facilities, facilities within walking distance of the ground and atmosphere) to create a ranking of all the away days in this league. This was the outcome:

1. Chesterfield
2. Wrexham
3. Barnet
4. Stockport
5. Dagenham
6. Sutton
7. Hartlepool
8. Torquay
9. Maidenhead
10. Halifax
11. Ebbsfleet
12. Harrogate
13. Bromley
14. Boreham Wood
15. Solihull
16. Woking
17. Fylde
18. Gateshead
19. Eastleigh
20. Barrow
21. Dover

I don't mind somewhere a bit rough with character like Barrow or Dover. Borehamwood is just a hellhole whose only redeeming feature is the ease and speed with which you can get back to London. Harlow, Crawley, Stevenage and (Tr)Ashford are just as bad, though not currently in the National League.

Easily Barrow.
League 2,Grimsby by a country mile.I know Hartlepool
is a bit rough around the edges, but Christ Grimsby,I've never seen so many boarded up or simply abandoned buildings:
Whilst there are indeed a lot of really shit areas here there is also a lot of work being done to try and improve things, one of the worst estates has been completely knocked down and rebuilt and is now really nice and quite sought after.
Unfortunately the main problem is the amount of smack heads living here and you see drug deals being done in broad daylight and nobody seems to bat an eyelid.

I hope you're looking forward to Yeovil Junction being 2.5 miles outside of the town, then from the town centre a 45 minute walk to the ground. Then nothing to do at the ground.

I’m sure the 20 away fans that will
come to your ground each week will find a way.

So looking forward to (once again) visiting all these (mostly) northern shiteholes. Yep, there are some rough places down south, but f*ck me, you lot make it sound so depressing. Which I'm sure it is.

You love writing lists. Personally it doesnt matter to me whether the place is a shithole or not. As long as you can get a beer and we dont get beat I'm happy

Thanks for the heads up, I've crossed THAT off my away game database. Bet your club loves you! :brill:

Knew you'd be rattled, you're as delicate as they come.

I actually had Fylde top for ground facilities too, tsk tsk.

Doesn't surprise me chief. I live in a beautiful part of the country, I go to a beautiful stadium and I watch beautiful football :)

I was working in Freeman Street in Grimsby only three weeks ago, it was like the wild west, I've grew up in Hartlepool so I've seen rough arsed areas most of my childhood but that place takes the biscuit, thought I was gonna get robbed for my Cooplands dinner!

I was lucky to find a Cooplands (which in reality is 2nd last rung of the ladder just above Thomas the Bakers) in amongst the boarded up shops, pawnbrokers and Polish shops, I'd never seen so many bicycles with carrier bag seats in one place before.

Last went to Grimsby about a year ago, seen worse places to be honest but if anything it just highlights the lack of investment up north, places dying and people surviving.

But that's a debate for a different section.

Yeah Freeman Street and the surrounding areas (called the East Marsh) are the shittest part of the town but a big part of it is being knocked down now, the end where it’s all boarded up will soon be no more.
Quite sad really as when I was a kid Freemo was vibrant and was the main shopping area in Grimsby but now it’s just smack head central.

Walk round Sheffield centre and you just see the "homeless" and then folks on spice, you can spend cash trying to refresh the area but until money is used to cure the issues of these people causing a nuisance and making the areas unwelcoming then you've no chance.

My mum lived, and sadly died, in Cleethorpes so I can offer an opinion with some anecdotal evidence.

Yeah Freemo is a shocker. What about the Nunny? How's that these days? I got bit by a Staffy there once. Happy days.
