Rochdale was originally given as 2500 and then revised up to 3500 I’m sure Firthy will have a link somewhere

The photo I saw looked easily over 3k, it holds 3.5k I think and was nearly full.

Rochdale still claiming it was 2,507 per their programme.

The photo is on page 381 on this thread, it's full apart from about 50 seats and they are all sat down so it's not like it looks more full than it is because everyone is stood up. Rochdale are talking utter bollox, 3.5k has to be right.

Rochdale seem to do that with the larger followings. The 3 times I've been to Rochdale in the league the numbers announced have always been way below what any pictorial evidence indicates.

It wasn’t a bad following, considering we had pre-sold 1,500.

No comment from me about the official figure, though.

Some of the away followings this season are just outrageous.

The average away followings will be higher than many 1st divisions abroad

Can’t give you an exact away following but we believe 3200 at the eithiad - and half stuck on the pissing m6 in a jam.
Will try to get the exact figure.

Brutal from city, great achievement getting there though, hopefully you score at home at least, what a chance you missed tonight in the 1st half to make it 1-1,

Bradford fans seem to sit down everywhere, even in local derby games. I bet they will all be sat down at Barnsley. Great following though.

Most stood at Sunderland, well at least the side where I were everyone was, but usually it's probably 50/50 always causes arguments between the fans as well. If it was up to me I'd stand home and away, as i don't go to football to sit on an uncomfortable plastic chair. But we seem to have a lot of either really young or old fans so it's probably why so many do, most of our fans in their teens up to 50's either stand or want to at least. It's a pain in the arse the the amount of moaning that our fans do about it.

They paid for their ticket so, ya know, it’s up to them whether they sit or stand or sing or don’t.

Standing makes you a better fan than sitting?
It makes for a much better atmosphere if an away end is stood. The best clubs in this country for noise away from home won’t ever have half their allocation sat on their hands.

There are no good atmospheres in this country standing or siting, nobody makes a peep at Valley Parade unless they score, regardless of how many they bring and whether they sit or stand. I'd rather stand but if not, never mind but it doesn't help atmosphere that much imo or the atmospheres in this country wouldn't be so crap.

You’ve just gone some way to proving my point. In L1 the only club that stand everywhere they go is Sunderland so I’d bet money on it they’ve been the nosiest fans you’ve had at VP this season. United, Liverpool, Leeds, Wednesday etc all create a good atmosphere away from home.

Sunderland, Coventry and Barnsley generally stand at away games.

Sunderland, Coventry and Barnsley were very quiet barring the odd burst.

We do have the tendency to stand if it’s a big game. Problem is, no game is a big game - we’re so used to playing the same old team in the same old league(s).

Barnsley definitely don’t, they have too many Craig’s that support them. You’re right about Coventry though.

No Sunderland didn't make a peep except when they scored, best 2 we've had this season we Accrington and Portsmouth. We've played Sheffield United in recent years they all stood and never made much noise either, Leeds did in the cup but it was a local derby and they'd taken a liking to ripping seats up and acting like mongs. If that's what it takes to make a good atmosphere, then it just proves it is dead, as most don't act like that.

I've known Leeds and Wednesday to both create a great atmosphere at Oakwell and contribute to a shit one. They're not consistently brilliant, and Sunderland weren't shouting about much last time they came here.

What’s your stance in regards to safe standing then? If you don’t believe there’s a correlation between standing and atmosphere then would you not welcome it? I think it’d go some way to improving home atmospheres in this country, it could hardly get any worse.

I'd welcome it, not sure it'd make much difference but as you say it can't get any worse. Plus it's just better to stand as its warmer than sticking your arse on a cold plastic seat, I'd use it.

667 Wimbledon at Coventry today.

Best vocal support of the season so far. Impressive numbers for them as well.
