I was there in 1998 and can confirm we had all of the Bishop street stand, a packed away terrace and half of the main stand (front and back) ! We outnumbered the home support that day, was a shit game mind but we won so a great day but I don’t bang on about us outnumbering Stags fans that day. I can still recall it kicked off in the main stand between Stags fans in the Notts section that day.

I believe Chesterfield did the same another season where they had the majority of the ground. So if you want to talk about pathetic ! There you go haha
Ìn a crowd of 6700 ish you took over the mill ,omg we bring 4000 most seasons

I find the whole away support obsession really bizarre in this forum. I like to hear how many is in the away end opposite me at Meadow Lane when I’m watching Notts but that’s it. Plenty of folk on here seem to get a right hard on about how many they will take, or have taken to another clubs ground. I guess football stattos like to know this sort of thing for every match but surely they only represent under 5% of supporters.

Surely home support is far more important ? You know the one that financially benefits the club you support , not the one that benefits someone else !

Dick waving at its absolute worse
Then you quote notts fans taking over field mill in 1998 ,really hypocritical dont youthink

Nobody ever took the main stand, I do remember County having the Bishop (crappie thing opposite) before though.

Would be crazy to be given 100% of the main stand but as reported we had 50% which was incredible in itself. Would never happen under Radford, but did with generous Keith lol

Nobody said invasion, just outnumbered...... at home. I imagine you were there that day, probably in Yellow half of the main stand :P1:

Anyway, that was 20 years ago now, or as Adam would claim 70! As we all know none of that matters , last season doesn’t matter, yesterday doesn’t matter. History means nothing

1-0 down at Sunderland :eyes:

I wouldn’t expect Notts to have much of any away support when the average age is 104

Only 20 years ago, You lot need to stop acting like your older brother

I’m sure Notts will be looking to move out of the relegation zone and become less of a laughing stock before mentioning irrelevant things like attendances or history

Early kick off due to Notts police hating Mansfield. So much so they wanted to palm them off to Yorkshire! (Jk)

Anyway putting this up now so Spanish can excite himself for a full week.

Ardley first game after the pointless (unless you win) Checkwhyyouratthisgame trophy at Sunderland. I expect a different more direct game so Stead being back is paramount. He's fit so the front line should be Stead and Dennis maybe Hemmings in there too with Allesandra who should all be fit.

We normally lose so us Pies expect it, who knows! Over to the man in the stand Spanishstag.
Gracias mi amigo ,yo soy mucho feliz ,este partir de futbol es mi favorita de ano ,es con mucho espero ese mi favorito lado gana nueva

“A club’s history is irrelevant” - wow! More pearls of wisdom from the fountain of football knowledge.

You’re the one bringing up away attendances , so a little hypocritical. Ask your dad, uncle or older brother about being outnumbered at home in a league game to little old us. That should end all attendance talk lol

Back to the league table and matches , once we lose at Field Mill I expect Ardley to have a positive impact in the next two months. If not we are in worlds of hurt and could get#stained

No easy job, lots of work on the training ground needed to get at least competitive. Tough to turn the momentum around at this stage , lift confidence but the talent is there.

That’s the whole point you couldn’t bring 4000 or close to the mill ! For a Nottinghamshire derby and you can’t blame price haha

We had the majority of the ground that day there was nowhere to go. Your chairman was incredibly generous that day , there was literally no where else to go !

Having played chesterfield this time last year who were adamant they’d stop up, id extend a kind hand, we can’t lose 2 rivals in successive seasons to non-league surely. Surely history and attendances will save Notts if push comes to shove, surely

That’s all I wanted to talk about , team selections , the game but some Stags fans started talking about Notts fans loving history, then we had pathetic match predictions based on nothing and finally talk of away followings . This thread was always going to turn out like this but I thought it would be El Delusional who caused it not the younger element .

You can talk about relegation and us being desperate for points, we are clearly but not after you predict a Notts win . Makes you look a fool

But if you want to throw mud, so be it. Adam is clearly rattled and made to look foolish . I put it down to age he’s clearly lived in and witnessed Mansfield’s golden era and knows no worse . I’m jealous ! No other word for it. He knows nothing of the 1990s or before . What a guy, what a lucky guy . He knows nothing else

Yeah. I look rattled. Ooooh help me. Please spare me your laughable wrath.

What a ridiculous post

I’m gonna step out on this one unless truly necessary to realign a young Staglet or two.

We all know how this plays out, lots of cheap shots, clever yet repetitive digs and genera football banter we hear every season for this fixture. I’ll then introduce facts and history into things which will seriously undermine most of Adam’s usual jibes at the worlds oldest professional football club. He won’t like actual facts and won’t even contemplate thinking about the past unless it suits him. I’m going to save my energies to helpingy local community and charity fundraising this week instead of asking direct questions which the fountain of football knowledge will simply ignore time and time again Cos we all know the answers. A clever and tbh only move.

If I was young I’d do a mic drop now but I’m not so I’ll smugly walk away and leave it to Enzo and others to make him look silly and keep him in check.

I’ll leave you with another of his classics to ponder whilst I help Wandsworth councils homeless population.

“A club’s history is irrelevant” - nobody tell Liverpool or Manchester United this :brill:

Indeed, back to the game, was surprised to see Mansfield play a strong side last night and the likes of Bish play 90 mins. At least looks like Stead will be fit for us, so Dennis won’t have to play up front on his tod (not his game at all)

Think it was a case of getting the rhythm back after 10 days break (#hosegate). Surprised he played Bishop for the full 90.

Expecting it be a tight game. Got a feeling it will be like Nolans first game a couple of years ago at your place.

By the sounds of it, it's good we did - seemed pretty poor and rusty and beaten by a better side - better to get that performance out of the way in that cup thing than in the league.

Saturday will be a tough game for both sides, and can't see much in it personally. Your lads will want to impress the new manager and i'm sure you've spent a lot of time training on the defensive side of things.

"Other" Notts fans who don't speak as much sense as you seem to think you'll get dicked - despite the differences in positions etc etc, I really don't see that.

Our only positives going into the game is a potential new manager response from the players with extra effort from the team and the return on one maybe two at a push of our injured stars .Although Stead is playing well this season , he’s never done too much against Mansfield . Having last weekend off gives Ardley the chance to put in a few extra training sessions in to help the shape and defence .

The negatives however far outweigh these, it’s Mansfield, it’s away , its where we usually lose comfortably . It’s an in form team on a long undefeated streak in the league versus horribly out of form , its 6th vs 23rd , plus we have more key injuries currently ! It’s game we never perform in whereas almost always Mansfield are really up for it regardless of league positions !

Apart from all that it should be a close niggerly competitive derby haha
