Surprised at how low Wildsmith is, considering he is more or less first choice for Wednesday?

Making coins is ridic this year.

The Division Rivals thing has netted me about 120k, the frequent SBCs are proft making. Normally do a bit of draft at the start and that netted me Neuer, but the SBCs are easier, pulled a few discard informs, Vardy, Douglas Costa and tonight's one Cavani.

Do the consumable stat boosts on UT last as long as you have the player or for a set number of games? For example if I give Danny Rose a +5 on shooting will it stay that way or only last a game or two?

Picked Vardy, Phillips and the three keepers recommended up last night (thanks for that). Wildsmith is my number 1 and has fared well against the AI opponents though I'm yet to test him against another person. Kyle Walker the only player I need now then I can concentrate my coins on fitness, stat boosts etc.

First time I've properly gotten into FIFA for years and enjoying it.

I don't understand the mentality of some people.

So I'm playing this dude and he insists on controlling his cms only when I have the ball, everyone else is sitting deep and he's playing the 41212 narrow version. I'm 1-0 up, so I'm not gonner force it and lose the ball for a counter and he plays like this the whole game pretty much.

As a result I have a new possession personal best and my second 70%+ in four Weekend League games. Sort it out people.



I'm not being a dick and passing it around the back, it's basically triangles between my midfield trio, wingers and full backs with zero pressure applied the whole game. Barely even sprinted. Like for the love of God, try and close me down at least.

Busy this weekend but will be back on Sunday.

Exactly what I was talking about in the post you liked. Divs 4 and 5 are fun and i had some brilliant games, but get to the top of 4 and above and its literally just this shit. I gave UT a chance for the first time ever this year, but alas, virgin kids ruin it.

Back to clubs for me, where I HAVE to play my pro 5"8 and mark a winger rather than an open attacker on the edge of the box. Sad times. Bring back fifa 11

Same thing just happened to me, state of this c***. How’s your W/L going? I’m 12-10, absolute shite at this FIFA currently compared to previous years but finally getting to grips with the shooting.

Currently sitting at 13-2 at the half way point. Pretty sure I’m going to get mega matchmaking fucked on Sunday, or just fucked by my hangover. Wanted Gold 1 as a minimum, surely I can’t fuck this up now...

Seen a lot of people making a deal about finishing, but I’m not really seeing it, most times I’ve got a yard of space in the area, I’m scoring. Scored a delightful chip from Di Maria outside the area yesterday that led to an insta rage quit. Probably the best goal I’ve scored on Fifa.

Playing pretty well on this one, my biggest issue is stopping crosses, I find the winger always has a yard on my full backs who have a poor starting position. Might be to do with the width I’m using.

Hit a wall in division rivals, sitting towards the bottom of D3. I think it’s just a bit congested with all the players getting to their levels. Played a couple of pros (if I find anyone to be really good I normally Google them) and drew with a German Twitch streamer who has more followers than Leyton Orient have season ticket holders. Does that count as my 15 mins of fame?

Had a lot of fun building the Yorkshire squad but ultimately frustrated by being unable to build up enough coin to complete it with Kyle Walker and the fact it’s quite a boring team to play with, I mean it’s a good squad and effective but lacks any real creativity or flair and the most of the players are not fast enough at all.

I’ll be keeping that squad but I’ve embarked on a new adventure now and I’ve created Africa Core, a team built up of entirely African players and only African players that represent an African country at international level.

22-8. Needed a win in my final game for Elite 3, so naturally matched up against a pro player for AS Roma, complete with a midfield of Vieria and Kante, and an attack of Mbappe, Neymar, Ronaldo and Best. Cool.

4231 with the wide variant. Lemar was, quite surprisingly, my top scorer with 12 goals from 15 games. Brandt and Thauvin were my super subs, don’t have a goalkeeper in the reverses to allow two subs, so when Ederson and Neuer hit 80 fitness or below, fitness card up.

Got 420k coins to spend (will be like 550k by next WL), not really sure where to upgrade bar Thiago Silva for Laporte. Will invest in a lot of in form cards and sell off later probably.

I can’t decide on a team or formation, I keep changing mine and I’m losing money from doing so, so I’ve just gone all out on one PL side that I know I’d do well with and the first 4 games I’ve played with it it’s played out really well.

By the next weekend league I’ll have Walker and Son into that as well and think I’ll be looking pretty strong. Have lots of fitness cards in my club to use as well so can get away with having one side.

I've decided to allow African born players that represent European countries into Africa Core and have managed to put two decent sides together for a relatively low amount of coins so my players are always on 99 fitness when I play. The strength and pace throughout the squad is great and they're a lot of fun to play with but the chemistry is awful (who'd have thought a team full of players from different African countries wouldn't get along?) but I've managed to limit the damage caused by this by playing an ultra-defensive high pressing style.

With the Yorkshire and African squads ready I've decided to use my third squad slot on creating a normal team as good as I can get it which was brought on by getting an 88 rated Coutinho on loan for 7 games after completing the TOTW challenge. Unfortunately I've traded away several good players in the quest to complete my previous squads so I've had to initally make the squad up out of the Yorkshire and Africa teams plus a few decent players I still had knocking about.

Division 5. It only needed 27k for rank 1

I keep getting to a point or two away from promotion and then losing 2 or 3.

If anyone hasn't done it yet you should do the Lucas POTM Sbc. It only costs 30 to 40k and he's ridiculous for that price.

Completed my two main teams now and pretty happy with them. Got a team made up of EPL players and one made up of Serie A players.

Got Roy Hodgson as manager and he's managed in both leagues.

Very happy with this bunch too. Will be sticking with these teams unless I unpack a better player from each respective league or accumulate enough coins to buy one, would love Insigne out on the left for the Serie A team for example.

I'm still pretty awful but with practice and this squad I should do ok. Switched to an ultra attacking high pressing style until I get a 2 goal lead then I switch to ultra defensive. Results have been improving but I still rarely win against other players, I'm playing it that much though that it doesn't really matter for now as I'm getting enough game time in to accumulate the coins and XP even if I'm losing like 80% of the time.

With that formation and pacey players upfront and wide like you have I'd suggest trying a counter attacking style but from the little I've played of the game it seems like they've removed the old d-pad tactical presets like "counter" and "long ball".

Now you can set up different tactics before the game. If you go to your custom tactics and press L2 you can assign the ultra def/def/attack/ultra attack to be different systems. Changing the formations and tactical set up so you can just switch to those mid game via the d pad




So far the best strikers I've used this year are Diego Costa and Rebic, CL Jonas isn't far behind
IF Mandzukic is the most expensive ST I've used but couldn't get on with him at all


Other really good cheap players I've used

Kessie, Balde, Gelson Martin's, Ndidi, Gotze, Kepa, Rudiger, Bakambu and Lavezzi

Cheers for the advice on the tactics, changed it up a bit and it's working well so far with me actually winning more than I lost when I played yesterday and also at world class level against the computer (which is a new high point for me).

Also had a crack at the squad building challenges and on the whole was left pretty disappointed with this game mode, ended up giving up too many decent players for too little reward though one positive was I unpacked a TOTW Ross Barkley who fits nicely straight into my EPL team and scored with him on his debut.
