Very different from Moyes.

Difficult one to predict. Can't deny hes done well recently, 96 points at Real Madrid, 4th and 6th placed finishes with Malaga plus a CL QF appearance, and a title with City. But he's always appeared an underwhelming character and West Ham are extremely unpredictable, wouldn't be shocked to see them finish 7th or 18th.

Yes exactly this. At least with Moyes you know what you'll get. This is probably more exciting for West Ham fans with a bigger potential upside than Moyes, but it's also more risky. I guess they need something to get the fanbase back onside and this, for now at least, will do that. Season Ticket renewal time and all that.

Good appointment I reckon, he's a good if somewhat uninspiring manager. Certainly an improvement on David Fucking Moyes.

Ironically I reckon he'd have been a good choice for Everton, surprised they didnt go in for him.

Terrible appointment. City wasted so much time on crap managers when they became money bags. Dunno what any club would hope to achieve with gayle or mancini

You thought a team with ambition should keep Allardyce as their manager.

A team that can only realistically finish 7th should've kept on a manager who took them over as a basket case and led them to 8th? Err yeah.

Don't tempt me to pull out the posts of yours criticising Klopp from earlier in the season mr p.

Feel free. On the rare occasion I did send criticism in his direction I wasn't saying anything that wasn't justified, and still wouldn't be.

There is more to management of a club like even Everton than getting mid table in a season of shit performing teams.

Agreed, he won't get the funds he needs to push that team forward and I can only see this being a one season thingy.

An excellent appointment in my view, a 3 year contract with the funds to build the team he wants...welcome to East London, Pellers.

It'll be interesting to see whether he presses the club to pursue Hart.

Sad to see it's become fashionable to knock one of the soundest England internationals there's been for years - he's such a nice lad - he doesn't deserve this.

Though a nice lad he is, a good keeper he is not,
Remember Torino and West Ham? He couldn't save a shot.
He seems a really nice bloke and for that we should be fair,
But hes a shit goalkeeper and should stick to shampooing his hair.

Most keepers struggle abroad initially - communication is key to the position like no other and that obviously takes time if it's a new language.

He wasn't that bad for West Ham - they were a basket case before he joined and he found himself in a fairly toxic circumstance.

He's a good keeper - people shouldn't call him shit. If West Ham don't go in for him I see him at Stoke. Always got on with the fans and would have a short commute should be live where he grew up.

Language isn't an issue for a goalie per say
Unless setting up a wall then fair play
He WAS shit at West Ham, not liked by the fans and I agree that Stoke would be ok

Pellegrini is too good of an appointment for the hammers. He'll get them into the Europa places and a good run in the cups. Then the owners will decide it isn't good enough and look for someone who can match their ambition of playing in the Champion's league.
